How do you clean...
1 Attachment(s)
this part highlighted in yellow? I found a thread about it awhile ago, searched for it, and still can't find it. On my Jeep, it's really dingy looking and want to know how to brighten it up. BTW, this isn't my jeep.

Thanks guys!

Re: How do you clean...
mothers back to black is what i used to use on my laredo cladding, id clean it first with some car wash and then put a thick coat of back to black on it, let it sit for a few minutes and then buff the excess off

As you know they quickly look very sub standard, but with five minutes love can look can as new.

I was mine thoroughly with Palmolive dish detergent to get rid of any grime and hose it off. Chamois off and let dry thoroughly.
This is how it looked after drying;

Then I use a cheap ($2-00) can of "shine" and carefully spray it on, quite liberally but not getting overspray everywhere;

The using a chux I rub it into her, like you would oil into your lady's back;

Hey presto, mint looking rear step and it lasts suprisingly well.

Now I know that's VERY simple and many of you would already do it, but I remember some time ago I was asked to do a how-too, so there you have it :D

Re: How do you clean...
The way I do plastic trim is...

1. Clean the plastic of previous dressing/dirt with Meguairs Super-Degrease (APC is good too)
2. Wash the cleaner off and then dry it with a MF
3. Warm the trim up with a hair dryer/heat gun to open the pours up
4. Apply a coat of Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel working it in well
5. Re-heat the plastic to allow the plastic to soak in the dressing and then wipe off any excess
6. Repeat with another coat if req.

You can use any dressing though, just stating what I use... :)

Re: How do you clean...
We have a ton of products for the trim that I really like. Two of our most popular products are the Chemical Guys Fade 2 Black and the Black WOW Black WOW. Both do a great job and are very popular items. Let me know if you have any other questions.
