V-led FAIL/Fire

Jeep almost caught on fire due one of the interior vled's shorting out. The light under the dash on the pass side wasn't working so I was like Hmmmmm.... LED's last thousand of hours so WTF. I swapped bulbs with the rear cargo door cause it's the same bulb and still the light under the dash didn't work. So I put the bulb that I thought blew out in the cargo door to see if it was the bulb or socket that wasn't working and it instantly started smoking and a few sparks and small flame. this is the end result of the bulb. Now the light under the dash on the pass side and the rear cargo door that don't work. Can you say "Going back to stock" :o

I'm going to return it to stock and bring it to dealer cause it's under warranty but I will also contact V-Led and see what they can do about this...

DO NOT TELL THE DEALER YOU HAD LEDS in there.

put the stock bulbs all around before your trip to the dealer

Re: V-led FAIL/Fire

and my rear hatch light, it was one I left factory so i didnt get the 'glow'.

well i put in my Kicker Sub. I go riding around BANGIN while I test it out. I come home. open rear hatch. and the lens for that light is on the floor. WTF. Did it thump it right out of the socket? upon closer inspection, the lens has 3 locking tabs, they were all melted. the socket was poopoo too. needless to say, went to dealer. my boy went to parts with new lens and socket and hands them to me. says 'handle it'. so i replaced them. and all this happened with STOCK BULB.

I think the issue is things are rated at 12v. our jeeps send 14.4 to lots of lights. incandescent maybe aint affected IDK.

anyway, Praise Jesus it dint light up!
