OME lift now fitted!!!

I would just like to say a big “thank you” to everyone who helped regarding my Old Man Emu question.

I had the local garage fit the coils and shocks today. “A” springs on the right (Driver’s) side. I checked the wheel arch to ground measurement before and after and I have gained 2” all round and each corner is exactly the same height 87 cm (34 ¼) wheel arch to ground.

The old shocks where leaking a bit. The ride now is MUCH better, it feels good when cornering. I am very pleased! :D

I have had this Jeep a month now and it has had new AT tyres, new brake disks & pads and the OME kit. So far I have spent $2,640 on parts / labour and still need to get the 50,000 mile service done.
Here are a couple of photos with the OME kit fitted:

Looks great, and that sure is a lot of coin to spend on mods/parts within the first month! :D

Re: OME lift now fitted!!!

Thanks guys,
I needed something to replace my old Toyota Hilux Surf (4-Runner) and looked at Toyotas, Range Rovers and Jeeps. I had always liked to look of Jeeps since they were introduced in the UK in the early 90’s.

The Toyota Land Cruisers that I looked at (2004 -06) where around £17,000 to £20,000... but the Jeeps seemed to give a lot more value for money. I paid £8,300 for this Limited (XS spec) these Jeeps were £33,400 new. The mileage @ 49,000 was lower than any of the Toyotas. Yes it did need new tyres and I later discovered 2 of the shocks where leaking but this gave me a good excuse to upgrade those parts. I do like this Jeep, it has the Mercedes 2.7 turbo diesel engine and gearbox... everything works as it should and it cost me a lot less than a comparable age Toyota so I now have spare funds in the kitty.

The main reason for fitting the OME kit was to get a better ride. The original suspension seemed soft compared to other 4x4’s I have owned (Land Rover, Toyota) so I wanted to firm it up a bit.

I have been on the Motorway at 70 mph and the ride is fine with no evidence of the “death wobble” that I have read about.

Where is the best place to purchase the OME lift, and how much should it run?
