ESP not Serpentine Belt - Front grinding noise

I have had this loud grinding noise from the front end whenever I make a u-turn with a bit of power.
So today just out of curiosity, I switched the ESP FULLY off (in Park and press ESP for 5 seconds). Then did the u-turn. I really floored it. Dead quiet except for the tires.
So...this only happens with ESP on??? Any thoughts anyone?

Re: ESP not Serpentine Belt - Front grinding noise

After going to the dealership for a recall I noticed a noise coming from the front end when braking. It sounded like electric motors activating. I thought it was the 4x system. I went back and after 2 test drives with a tech, the guy couldn't figure it out. After a call to Detroit, they realized that when the computer was flashed my ABS was reconfigured to activated sooner ( while braking it will engage at 20 mph ). The story I got was the govt. determined the brakes had inadequate stopping power so the boosters engage sooner. ( not sure if I believe that one ). I don't mind the added braking power. My only complaint is the service tech. didn't know what the computer flash consisted of!
