Re: 2006 WK Towing Upgrades

Thanks. It is nice to have the 4.7L V8 and the additional 25HP/70Lb/Ft. Just have to add a brake controller, remote start, and auxiliary input for the audio system and it'll be set.

So after looking at ways for my wife and I to make our 06 Laredo w/ 3.7L V6 to be more tow worthy, we found a great deal on a one owner, 06 Limited with 4.7L and towing package. It has...

Re: 2006 WK Towing Upgrades

I forgot to mention that I don't understand your logic regarding the cooler and fluid "making it to the tranny in time.."? Obviously if you add addtional lines and cooler, you are increasing the...

Re: 2006 WK Towing Upgrades

To answer your posts a couple things to remember. The first is that it is the combination of components/systems that dicate what a vehicle can tow not just power. Obviously the transmission is...

Re: 2006 WK Towing Upgrades

I appreciate the feedback. The automotive industry typically designs transmissions on two criteria: loading and torque input. The NAG was designed as a 5 speed automatic transmission for a variety of...

Re: 2006 WK Towing Upgrades

I don't know if I quite buy that damage will result unless reprogrammed.... It is the final drive and would be the same (probably not to this extent, but you would have to calculate the difference)...

Re: 2006 WK Towing Upgrades

As far as the gearing, it isn't that bad. I can get complete front carrier and rear axle out of salvage yards around here for $700 in 3.73 non-ELSD. Clean them up, go through them, new fluids,...

I have a 2006 GCWR with the 3.7L V6. It has 141k on it and runs great. Obviously we all know these things are tanks and the V6 is not a barn burner. My wife and I recently have downsized...
