Re: What tint for front windows?

My opinion is the darker the better. I even tint my windshield. Otherwise a non tinted car looks like a people aquarium to me!

Re: De chrome and slow evolution to my Stormtrooper

The whole grill and the chrome piece between the tail lights have both been removed and Plastikoted white. The only downside is the Plastikote is not an exact match. The Stone White is almost an off...

Re: What tint for front windows?

Most 20% tints should match up. Sungard is what is on mine and it matches pretty well. Is a hair lighter in the right light. The Viper brand tint, while is a cheaper tint, is darker too. May match...

These were the tools used.

Before.

After first molding and goo removed and clay barred.

Re: Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

Yeah I have resigned myself to the fact that I will have to do the same. Does your GC have a factory installed tow package?

Re: Debadged the hood, still a ghost image there

Most of what you are seeing is the rest of the clear coat being weathered and what was under the logo not. If u have someone that can cut and buff the hood it will disappear.

Re: Debadged the hood, still a ghost image there

Yeah clay barring it should take it away. It did for mine anyway on a white hood.

Re: Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

That is reassuring. I like how this rides a lot. It is a step up from my prior WK's. Although my 06 was a limited, I have a new understanding of what happens to a car that spends a few years being...

Re: Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

That is pretty much exactly what I am going for too. I am mostly curious how the ride will be affected. The SRT spring should be stiffer than the standard front spring. I am hoping to not get a...

Re: Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

I will probably collect the parts over the winter and give it a try in the spring. I also have 2 get new tpms sensors for my Viper reps because my old 06 used the 315 MHz sensors and now I need the...

Re: Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

Yeah I have noticed that too. A couple of guys on their SRT's have done the Eibach rears and their stock fronts to level. About all I can do is try it and see how it rides.

Re: Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

Ok yeah that makes sense. So my guess is I'm looking at both non load level shocks and drop springs at least on the rear. Maybe I could find just SRT rears and level it out.

Load leveling to non load leveling shocks

This may be a dumb question and please correct me if I am wrong. But with load leveling shocks if you replace them with non load leveling shocks won't that in effect drop the rear stance some? I...

Yes. The damage amounted to close to 70% of the value of the Jeep so they totalled it out. The pix that I took really don't do it justice. The hail actually dented it deep enough that it cracked the...

It worked out in my favor. Insurance gave me $11900 for the old jeep so I was able to get the WK that I wanted in the first place. The only downside was having to strip the $6000 worth of a/v...

I sure will! I'm just waiting on an insurance check. My 05 GC got hit with $7,000 hail damage and totaled. So now as soon as the insurance check gets here I pick up my 06 and will order the wheels.

New Overland 20"s on 2006 WK

As you folks can see from the title I am in the market for wheels for my WK and I have been considering a set of the 20"s that come on the WK2. Has anyone done this yet? Anyone have any thoughts? The...

Re: installed pioneer avh-p8400bh

The nice thing about the 8400 is if you have an iphone 4s you can use the app mode and use turn by turn nav from your phone on the screen of the 8400. No need to pay the extra for a stand alone nav...

Re: Died out of nowhere.

Yeah I get this same issue on occasion finally it kicked the CEL and it was the EGR code. I haven't been able to replace the EGR valve yet but my 4.7 liter 05 does the same thing.

VHT Niteshades is what I used on mine. Two light coats got me where I wanted. You can still see red through them but at night they look black. Then 4-5 coats of clearcoat. You have to wet sand and...
