Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

You'll be lucky to get it on 6/26. On 6/26 they can easily tell you it will be 7/15, then end of July, then it is coming any day. Look, it isn't one thing that is the problem with the service. It...

Re: Still like my Overland

Same. I have a 2013 and every once in a while it freezes or dies but that is a relatively rare event.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

This isn't the only B.S. we deal with. The rest of the dealer experience is horrible as well. Incompetent techs, insufficient people for the workload, needing to come back multiple times to fix or...

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

I'm sure they exist somewhere and I'm not accusing anyone of lying. But if we're talking ~$50k cars and I have to go to a message board to confirm that some dealers have car rental places on-site...

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

Yeah, no one should be riding you in the right lane. But left lane is passing lane. Too many people forget this simple rule of the road.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

Just a note - I have Maxcare. Still had to get driven to a car rental company, fill out the paperwork, deal with reimbursement (which is reduced if I can't get an FCA car), drive a crappy car. And...

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

Ok, maybe you won the lottery, but I've been to a dozen different dealerships over the years and not a single one worked like that. The closest I got was one place that supposedly had loaners but...

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

Why not move over to the right lane and let them pass? I absolutely detest people that hang out barely over the speed limit in the passing lane. There are one or two other lanes to hang out in.

Re: Why did you choose Grand Cherokee

Starting to think the answer is "stupidity."

But seriously, I had 2 Jeeps before this one and it is what I felt was a good value for the features. Has a great V8 engine, air suspension, offroad...

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

I got a 200 as a rental for a repair issue with my JGC. Really didn't like it. I suggest you test drive it before you buy it, but my Nissan Maxima rental was much enjoyable.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

To clarify, you STILL don't get loaners if you have the extended warranty. They just reimburse you some of the car rental cost ($35/day if they have a FCA vehicle, otherwise, only $20). You still...

Re: 2015 Range Rover VS Grand Cherokee (Overland/Summit)

Wait, what? Do you have an Overland or Summit? You shouldn't be comparing lower trims to the RR Sport.

Re: 2015 Range Rover VS Grand Cherokee (Overland/Summit)

Yeah, I cross-shopped the RR Sport as well. I know several people with RR cars and every single one of them told me it wasn't worth it. Plus, I owned a Jaguar in the past and it was an awful...

Yep, mine died on my 2013 V8 at ~30k. I was pretty shocked but judging by this thread I really shouldn't have been.

Re: 2016 to get twin turbos?

The hemi is a solid engine that is reliable and for the performance you get is reasonably efficient. You can further increase performance and efficiency with DI and such. But turbos are a way to...

Re: 2016 to get twin turbos?

I stand corrected, but again, starting at $70k, which means $80k+ with any decent options. So SRT will likely be the cheapest realistic option and will still cost a hefty sum (and likely to cost...

Re: 2016 to get twin turbos?

I've got bad news for you guys: almost no one on that list has V8s anymore. M class killed the V8s this year except for the AMG, Porsche switched the Cayennes and Macans to turbo v6s (except the...

Re: 2015 Editorís Choice Awards, Mid-Size SUV: GC !

This is 100% correct. When it works I absolutely love it and they demonstrate why they are a good value even at the top end $50-60k pricetag. But when they break you will wish you didn't drop large...

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

A $300 tuner will make a difference for the Hemi as well. Just stating that the hemi can be pushed very far with available mods and that it makes no sense to compare a stock hemi to a modded diesel....

Seems like an unreasonable comparison. Wouldn't you need to compare a modded hemi to a modded diesel? Hemi has a ton of room for improvement. In fact, if you're REALLY ambitious you can even add a...

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

I'm sorry, but I'm going to disagree. We have someone that actually ran the numbers here to show that you're not coming out ahead on cost vs the V6. And the hemi is more than a little faster stock...

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

Diesel 0-60 is 7.8 seconds. That is pretty mediocre. Especially when you consider that the regular V6 is 7.5.

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

I don't think it is because "Americans are stupid." I think it is because you're talking about a 3.0L Turbo V6, which costs more than the hemi but has far worse characteristics like 0-60. If it was...

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

That's a great follow up question. If Hemis account for 30% of Overland/Summit orders and Diesels make up another 10-20% then that is significant information, even if it is basically zero for...
