All good info, there is one point of clarification though. The engine light on it's own will not prevent Regen. I had mine on for a DEF issue for a couple of weeks and it Regens just fine.

So interesting tidbit to add to the conversation... This Engine has Viscosity Sensors and can actually throw codes for Viscosity.

Just because an oil is backwards compatible to an older standard does not mean that all oils of the older standard are forward compatible. GF5 oils are perfectly fine in vehicles requiring GF3 but...
