Re: 05 Limited fog lights HELP

Did the fog lights used to come on?

I know that they have to be "activated" as a feature via starscan if being added to a rig that did not have them before...if the hardware side of things check...

Not necessarily. Some of the 'deep' codes will not display through the key dance.

Re: Need some DTC help

This is likely not a result of the N23 recall. I would recommend if it has not had the recall performed (you can check on the Jeep website, though it likely has before it was sold to you), not to...

Re: LX or just a std WK?

I do not believe there is an 'LX' jeep (other than the earlier 5.9L Limited LX Grand Cherokees of the late 90's). The LX platform is the RWD platform used for the Magnum, 300, and Charger. It just...

Re: 2005 WK 3.7L Wont drive Service Elec Brake System Msg

I know there was a discussion a while ago about whether it was possible to remove the front drive shaft to allow for dyno testing of the rear wheels. Consensus was that the rear wheels would not be...

Re: How do you know if you've been hit with the N23 recall bug?

The check shift procedure message means that the necessary conditions to shift into 4lo have not been met.

You have to have the transmission in neutral and rolling slowly (2-3 mph or something)...

How do you know if you've been hit with the N23 recall bug?

I believe this forum is for jeep owners of all types, not just those that spend half their time in 4Lo. No need to be condescending when people are looking for advice.

[Edit: I have removed...

Re: 2005 Wk Alignment numbers ?

I just noticed in reading your printout, they have the vehicle listed as an SRT 6.1L...not sure if that makes a difference in alignment, but I would imagine so.

This was a 5.7L that was being...

Re: 2005 Wk Alignment numbers ?

If I'm reading the numbers correctly, your camber is out on the front left and rear left. All the rest looked within range.

For the front:
Castor should be 4.0 (3.55 to 3.45 acceptable)
Camber...

Re: Tire pressure sensors 2007 WK

They look like little control modules. They'll have a single multi-pin connector going into them. If you get under the vehicle and look in the right rear you should see the wire leading to a module...

It certainly sounds like it could be the torque converter.

Re: How easy is it to replace upper control arms?

Yes. You still have to separate the UCA from the knuckle. It's not a bad job, but you sometimes have to play around with the position of the lower control arm to get everything out. Also, it can...

Popping noise after turning off '05 Limited

Probably the cats and exhaust cooling down. They get quite hot and as the metal expands and contracts with the heat cycle, you can get popping noises.

Could also be when taking your foot off...

Re: Bad sound coming from front end... sounds like I need grease in a bearing or some

First two things I'd check are brakes (ensure you don't have a caliper sticking) and wheel hub.

Does the sound change when cornering? Wheel bearings will often change sound as they are loaded and...

PROCEDURE).
2. Disconnect...

CRD bog down at 3000 rpm

You'll probably have better luck in the diesel section.

I know a lot of people had trouble with the swirl motor, which I think could cause a bogging down - though usually results in a CEL.

Afraid not.

The correct ps fluid for the hemi is only available from the dealer.

I would drain, flush, and refill with the proper stuff.
