Re: Latitude Tours - puncture prone

Unfortunately, it did not occur to me to take a photo until after I had pulled out the stone. It was two, maybe two and a half inches long, pyramid shaped, and the point drove right through the...

Latitude Tours - puncture prone

First big gripe about the new Jeep:

Driving over a dirt road on July 4th, and a two-inch chunk of stone punctured right through the thickest part of the tread on my back-driver's Latitude Tour....

Re: Emergency water fording

I started a revolution of other vehicles driving across! Except for the guy in the Prius, he was smart enough not to try it.

Emergency water fording

Vermont is getting hammered nearly every single day with torrential rain, resulting in flash flooding. Today there were cars backed up for about a half-mile on a local road, and I pulled to the front...

Re: Billet Silver or Bright White

White all the way, easiest to maintain and always looks great. Stays cool during the summer, even with black interior. Provides natural camo during the winter, or if you happen to live in the Hoth...

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

My sluggish 1-2 upshift in ECO mode has now returned, roughly two weeks after the battery reset.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

God bless your dealership for letting you do that. I stopped by a showroom in New York this past week and they basically said "no way" when I asked if I could try out the '14 SRT. I asked how they...

Re: 2014 Limited Headlights

A high-end HID kit from Xenon Depot (one of this site's preferred vendors or whatever) runs about $250, even with paying for professional installation that's a far cry from springing for the whole...

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

This morning, I unlocked the vehicle via the fob as I was approaching it, then it only took a double-click of the liftgate button for it to open. Still not perfect, but three clicks instead of four,...

Re: Wheels and Floor Mats??

Ask your dealer, they gave me a fantastic deal on the Mopar mats - $150 off if I bought the slush mats and cargo area mat. Ended up getting both for $40.

Re: '14 Overland - Demo Pricing??

We looked at an absolutely loaded '13 Summit w/Hemi that was also being used as a manager's "demo" (a.k.a. personal ride) before we bought our '14. It had less miles on it (~2,000) and was discounted...

Re: Overland Red or White?

As the owner of a white JGC, I must say it looks great and is very easy to maintain. My experience has been that grime and light scratches show up much more on darker colors.

Re: Volant CAI

The install was super easy, as others have said. Only issues I encountered have been well documented: Factory rubber grommet needed on bottom of box for proper fit, and plenty of spit to lubricate...

Re: 2014 summit hemi 500 mile review

What about the Hemi, what would you rate it? That engine blows me away every time I get behind the wheel; the top-end power - from 60 mph on up, in 7th and 8th gears - is just jaw-dropping.

Re: Is it me or most of the problems with the Overlands?

As I posted before, I have a '14 Limited and couldn't be happier with it. Sounds like you either got a rotten apple, or have a whole different set of standards.

Re: Is it me or most of the problems with the Overlands?

The only issues I have with my Limited are that the Hemi gets up to 110+ mph on the highway before I realize I'm speeding, and Pearl Jam Radio on XM plays "Immortality" too often.

Simple exhaust fit question

Re: At a loss for words

:(

Luckily, I am doing another GCLimited negative terminal disconnect when I install my Volant next week, so my poor truck can "forget" this whole experience.

Re: At a loss for words

So as long as she was in drive and not sport, it should have shifted automatically - albeit really late - right? That makes me feel a bit better.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Certainly does make a difference. Holds 1st and 2nd gears longer on both the upshift and downshift, making drive - even with ECO on - feel just a bit more like sport. Nice work GCLimited.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

No, It had been sitting in my driveway for a few hours. I am about to reconnect it and go for a test drive, and am interested to see if the suspension really did change position.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Trying this now. As I was lifting off the negative terminal, my air suspension engaged for some reason and lifted the vehicle up. Anyone else experience this?
