Re: 2000 grand cherokee

This happened to several already. For this reason it is always a good idea to compare the old and the new part with each other, to be sure that they are exactly the same. Most probably your problem...

Re: Newbie needs Brain Picking please

Welcome to the garage Aaron.
Did you already try to drive without the front propshaft? It would unload the T case front output and the front differential. If the noise continues the same, i would...

Re: Dead Radio

The DIN norm is used to standardize in this case the size for the radio. The normal small size radio is a 1 DIN. Our jeep has a 1 1/2 DIN size, but the radios with a 6 or 7" display they are double...

Re: Injector fuse has blown twice in the past two weeks

The small red locking tabs become very brittle over time and they break easily. No worries about that, because they are in fact a latch from the connector lock. So without the red tabs, the connector...

Re: Injector fuse has blown twice in the past two weeks

Yes, that is a good idea. When the old tape is off, you can have a good look at each wire separately. Maybe that you will discover anything then. You could eventually take one connector from an easy...

Re: Injector fuse has blown twice in the past two weeks

The fuse which blows is fuse #26 in the PDC under the hood? At this point i would not expect an injector to be the problem, because if an injector is shorted internally, it will stay shorted (not a...

Re: Slight vibration 30-40

Did the guy from the shop where the wheels where balanced say anything about the balancing? Sometimes they donīt get the tire balanced 100%, which could create a bit of vibration.

Re: Power antenna help

Welcome to the garage.
Not familiar with the power antenna you have, but most probably a gear broke or is worn. You will have to remove the power antenna assy and open up the gearbox to see if its...

Hopefully some member from the Augusta area can chime in and help you with a mechanic. Iīm from Brazil, so donīt know any mechanic overthere.

Re: engine noise in 2002 wj 4.0l

Can you hear if it comes from the head, or more from the lower end? A mechanics stethoscope could help in pinpointing the source.

Re: engine noise in 2002 wj 4.0l

A piston skirt is just the lower side of the piston, where it runs inside the cylinder. Piston slap happens when the piston in fact is too small for the bore and the piston can tumble a bit inside...

But also, when the passengers side wheel rotates the front prop shaft, then there seems to be...

Re: 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee front wheels not working

Which 4 wheel drive system does it have?
Was any part of the drivetrain changed lately? If not, i would first jack up one of the front wheels and see if it can be rotated with ease. If it does, then...

Re: 06 wk overheating???

That it takes longer for the heat to start working, points towards a not properly closing thermostat. Maybe it is stuck somewhere in between. So i would first change the thermostat.

Re: Dead Radio

You checked both fuses, #5 and #30 on the junction block? You could measure the power on the radio connector itself, it should have 12V continuously on pin 1 and 12 and on pin 2 with ignition switch...

Re: engine noise in 2002 wj 4.0l

It could be the exhaust manifold gasket which is leaking, maybe even one of the manifold bolts broke.
I just see now in the SM that the hydraulic lash adjusters for the 4.0L are inside the block and...

Re: engine noise in 2002 wj 4.0l

Re: engine noise in 2002 wj 4.0l

I'm not familiar with the 4.0, but from hearing it seems to be a bit noisy engine. A bad hydraulic lash adjuster will cause a ticking noise. You will need to remove the cylinder head cover and feel...

Re: liberty 2008 injector noise

Re: 2002 Jeep GC making loud noise when I let off the gas.

Welcome to the garage.
Does the noise change with reducing speed? Could be a pinion bearing inside the front differential. I would check the fluid of the differential for metal chavings. Also check...

Re: Jeep help

I would first check if the antenna ring is in its place around the key cylinder. I donīt believe the SKIM itself is the culprit. Could be a wire problem as well.

You replaced the cam sensor for what reason? What did you do when the P0320 code showed up? Seems that your problem is the crank sensor. Which engine do you have?

Re: transmission problem - no codes, any advice greatly appreciated!

Re: NV247 Transfer Case low oil/leaking & Misfire

I would first see if changing the diff fluid with fresh one with friction modifier will resolve this. Could eventually be play on one or both cv joints from the drive shafts.
