Yeah, Jeep replaced the left rear strut-so that was the sound.

The new sound is the same as the previous one, in the same place so maybe a standard defect?

Mine did, and in fact does again, and it was due to leaky shock that needs to pump up when restarted. Mine only did it the first start of the day, or after several hours.

Not sure if this is my...

Quick question, so people are having lots of issues as their parking (or emergency if you call it that) brake is breaking? Sorry but I am having issues following when people break the brake 'cause...

Re: Holy smacks! My JGC just moved itself out of the driveway

I must admit to being amazed that people don't use the parking brake. The fact that you can now put it one while your free hand under your seat beat means it really doesn't take any extra time.

I...

Thanks for that. If anyone has some time, have a look at the ARB FB page, and comment on the "new bar" they have made for the Colorado 7. Make one for something that's been out 6 months but still no...

Off-road wheel options

Hiya all,

Well as a proud, if somewhat angry WK2 Overland CRD owner, I am planning a trip west from Brisbane, turn right at the rock and then follow the coast all the way around.

Now I'm...

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

It was, and I quote the Jeep assistance person here.....

"Back up at about 10 km/hr, put in neutral then drive, well maybe not 10, maybe walking pace"

In the end I just got into the car park...

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

When mine had the issue on Fraiser, I did the forwards/backwards wiggle to reset thing as described by the Jeep person on the phone at the time I was doing it. He said take it in and get the code...

Re: Real World Diesel mileage

Well I've on the City return (if you call Brisbane a city) at 10.7, but you beat me on the open road as I only turn in 8.1-8.6.

Must go for a drive down to Melbourne and check it over a long drive.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

The 'fix' is the reprogramming of the transmission module? There was someone up from either Melbourne or Sydney and had about 5 to do from what the service guys said.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

On a side note, got a "Service Air sus" last week briefly, and I had mentioned to...

Re: Auixiliary fuel tank for WK2

So how does it all work? Is it a manual, flip switch to transfer to the main tank? Or is it just drawn from first (which would mean DTE would remain unchanged for a while)?

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

You're right about the learning. All 4wd's operate differently, the old Landcrusier back in the 90's was much different. As we all get used to the way the new GC works with the electronics, we may...

Re: Locker for WK2

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the QuadraTrac II has a electronic rear locker right? And the center diff is locked if in 4wd low, so wouldn't you just get a front locker?

Re: That Diesel is Expensive

Or AUD$62K for a company Overland CRD that does have the Quadra-drive and more torque than a hemi.

Plus it has the Adaptive cruise control so once set you don't get the tickets:thumbsup:

Re: What do you guys think about rain guards (wind deflectors / wind visors)?

Well if you want them, then its worth it.

Have found that the wind does push into the GC pretty well, so a slightly open window is out if its raining, the rain shields do work well in those cases.

Re: Trail Rated Badge position

Sort of amusing, as the Overland is 'Trail-rated' due to ground clearance from the air-bags, and traction from the Quadra-drive II.

Then Jeep decides that I can't have my stickers, that I paid...
