Re: 730N Remove and replace with aftermarket

I for one won't wonder why as I replaced the 730 in my limited with an Avic-z140 within 3 weeks of ownership. It helped that I already had the Pioneer from the car I traded in. With the correct...

Assuming you're using the stock locations for the tweeters and midbass, where are you mounting the mid range?

Looking forward to pics!

Re: Alpine Audio Upgrade

Why not put one under each of the front seats? Should make for easier wiring, plus there's enough room. I mounted a PDX4 in the spare tire of my last car because of space restrictions:

Re: Aftermarket Head Unit Suggestions

I had the z140 in my old car and then installed it into the GC. No complaints and the z150 is supposed to be much better.

Re: Headunit upgrade advice

I have a Pioneer Avic z140 and really like it. If you go the pioneer route, the z140 can be had cheap since the z150 was just released.

Re: Just ordered

Well done sir, nice and clean the way it should be! How's the sound? I know the speakers probably aren't broken in yet, but anything you like / dislike about the HSKs?

Thanks.

Re: Aftermarket Nav Install - Trimming and Antenna Question

Re: Fitting a 4" speaker/Comp in the Dash of WK2

Agree with you 100% - if I were to add a DSP, it would be the last piece of the puzzle. I should have elaborated on my plans for the truck.

1) replace head unit: done, I had an avic from my old...

Re: Fitting a 4" speaker/Comp in the Dash of WK2

Do you plan on installing a DSP as part of your install? Asking because everything I've read says that you will need one to fully take advantage of the center channel...using time alignment.

Re: Pioneer AVH-X1500 Receiver install pics

I used a dremel to trim the substructure and it wasn't bad at all. Don't worry if your cuts aren't perfect, as Rage said, nothing will be visible when you're done.
