Re: overland 4wd stuck in sand

BikerBill-if you have an Overland, it is equipped with Quadra-drive (not Trac) II. QD II has a limited slip rear differential so you can have the situation where you are in your normal QD II and go...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

My wacko grease relief has worked without issue for 6 months. Makes you wonder if they are barking up the wrong tree with the shock itself. As they say, the best solutions are simple. Hope yours...

No I didn't take any pictures as I never thought it would work. Here is what I did. First-here is the link to the tsb where their first attempt at a fix was to tinker with the shock....

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

I'm telling you guys go lather them all up with lithium grease including above the shock mounting plate where attached to the body. There is a space above the plate where the top of the shock piston...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

Well Chris-I wish you luck. We've been fighting this since the 2011 model with Quadralift. It'll be the right shock, then the left shock then both shocks finally telling you that it is a normal noise...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

So much for replacing both shocks at same time

Remove the shocks and drive it around--holy crap! If you take them off and it makes no noise-don't replace them--really?? or just a typo

"normal...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

Attorney sounds good! Knowingly producing a vehicle with a ongoing defect for 4 model years is bad enough. Tack on the fact that they are not honoring the warranty is another. By replacing the...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

Well I just posted a complaint on the NHTSA website...highlighting our broken shocks as a safety issue. We'll see if they make Chrysler man up!

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

You know that is just typical! Of course a 40K car is supposed to clunk--what the hell was I thinking???? "Normal" = "we don't know how to fix it" This is exactly why I was hesitant to buy a Chrysler...
