I just looked over recall posted in the tsb area of wk2jeeps and what they have to do to put the foam shield around the booster, they basically disassemble the whole upper left side of the engine...

Instead of going in and asking for a tsb to be performed, tell them what your problem is (use the same language as in the tsb) and tell them you think this may be known issue or there may be a tsb...

To know if you have this exact issue, go about 10mph in a straight line, let off the gas and let the Jeep coast down to about 5mph, when getting to that speed you should hear an obtrusive moan...

The noise is very specific to that 5mph speed. If you Jeep is not making a quick rub noise specifically when accerating through 5mph or a moaning droan when coasting at 5mph, your noise may be...

Was there ever determined to be an actual faulty piece in the transfer case that could cause a performance failure or was it just a noisy unit?
