OK,so the plan of attack would be; snip the wires at the black box(which would be the inverter?) ,splice in the light strip,and turn it on? That would be great if it was that simple!!

I'll try the speed sensors. Most of my research tends to lead me in that direction as well. I guess the thing to do would be replace both. Sure hate to see the money go.
