Re: Anti freeze smell

Water pump replaced, brake booster recall done, the visor recall and all the latest updates. Lawless Jeep in Woburn did it, same place I bought it.
So far so good.

Re: Anti freeze smell

You can see it from under the jeep through the opening in the splash shield. You will see dried up coolant if it's been leaking.

Re: Anti freeze smell

I crawled under it last night, you can see it coming from the water pump area. It looks like it has been weeping but drying on the engine so no leak on the ground.
Monday its off to the dealer to...

Anti freeze smell

Lately I'm getting a strong anti freeze smell from under the hood after driving it, no leaks, fluid level OK.
Any ideas?

Re: What Genius Engineer @ jeep decide to cut 1" off the length of the receiver tube?

Crash standards are likely the blame here for keeping the hitch tucked in as far as possible. The rattle is more than likely from poor tolerances in manufacturing.

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

Any way to make the front sensor fit better vs the boxy add on? It just looks prime to catch on anything and everything if you were to really need the max approach angle.

Re: Here's a new one: water coming in from the B pillar.

Remove the headliner and use a hose on the outside on low to pin point the problem.
This will cause health issues as well once this turns to mold, and it will.

Re: Might need to Sell my Jeep Quickly

If he is going to get back in a jeep soon, trade the current jeep in but have them take it now, then order a new one, should take 8 weeks or so to come in. This will lower his income to debt ratio...

Re: prformance coils

Maybe if you recoils were on the way out this May add 18 hp but I doubt just swapping out coil packs without changing the fuel rate would give you much gains.

Re: Eibach Allterrain Lift Kit WK2

A higher spring rate on the the WK2 will hurt your already limited articulation unless your increasing the vehicle weight. It will handle better for sure as the springs are stiffer and the...

Re: Airaid vs K&N CAI - Is there a clear winner?

That was my point, it was not worth doing. It does have it's place but not worth it on a street car.

Re: Airaid vs K&N CAI - Is there a clear winner?

You guessed wrong, that's why I posted what I did. Like I said sitting in traffic the temps will climb but once driving again they drop right back down. Insulation on your intake duct will not do...

Re: Airaid vs K&N CAI - Is there a clear winner?

You guys realize heat soak is not much of an issue unless your doing a track day and bracket racing. Once your moving within a minute or two the intake temps in the duct will be close to ambient...

Re: Mod Suggestions...? Will these do the trick?

Your best bet would be a custom engine tune. All the add ons your talking about there won't be as good as a custom tune.

Re: What do you think of these tow hooks

Those are tie down points for running on a dyno, not tow hooks for pulling or being pulled.
You will find them under the back of every ricer who thinks they have power.

Re: Do CAI's actually make power on the Hemi?

That link had a good thread that went downhill quickly. My take is you won't get much out of an intake system. I know the dyno in that thread showed 50 rw ftlbs increase, but I don't buy it. Dyno...

Re: Nail in tire. Question regarding replacements

You will be fine with one new tire. Think of how many AWD jeeps are out there with bad front tires because they didnt rotate them enough, somehow they dont manage to break anything.

If the upper hose is bad, that has nothing to do with the water pump itself. I wouldn't panic about it, its possible it was damaged during the water pump job but odd it waited this long to show up....

If the battery died or the fob malfunctioned you don't want the Jeep to shut off.
