Re: Strange issue

Had the same issue. Replacing ignition switch seems to have fixed ut for me. $25 and about 30 minutes mostly spent threading the assembly in and out of the dash.

Re: Electrical issues in cold

Try replacing the ignition switch. I had the same issue and it got worse when it was cold (though still above freezing). I started by cleaning the junction blocks under the dash on driver side. That...

Re: Lost all electrical for a second, twice.

Maybe I should check mine too. Was this a ground connection on the starter?

Re: Lost all electrical for a second, twice.

I have an '05 with the 4.7L and it's doing the same thing.

It started a few years ago and I was able to get it to stop by cleaning and reseating two connector blocks under the dash on the driver...

Re: Instrument Cluster Problems

I had the same issue on my 05 4.7L WK. There are a couple of large multi-pin connector blocks under the dash on the drivers side inside the cabin. I disconnected the battery then took those apart...

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

I had a similar issue on my 05 WK 4.7. Especially driving at night, I'd lose headlights, dash would go dark, then everything would light up.
I cleaned the battery terminals but also cleaned...

Re: big problem need help

I had a similar issue with my 05 WK 4.7. After lots of tinkering, the ultimate cause for me was the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

Re: Changing Rotors on my 06

It may take some coercion after you remove the o-ring too but you shouldn't have to remove the axle nut.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Another installation note on the regular (not SRT) Bilsteins. I replaced mine on a 2005 WK 4.7 GC and it was a pain getting them out.

Even with the upper balljoin pulled and lower sway bar link...

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Weird, I was just logging on to post and warn folks about this. I did the same thing and decided to put the washer in (nothing like doing struts twice). The OEM struts have a raised shoulder where...

Re: 06 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Problem wih Dash Cluster

5 days now and still no more problems. :) Architect, I'd definitely make sure they've cleaned contacts. The connector blocks under the dash on my WK felt especially "crunchy" when I unplugged them...

Re: 06 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Problem wih Dash Cluster

Well I cleaned the battery posts and terminals, cleaned the pins on the connector block by the fuse/relay boxes under the hood, remounted that connector (looks like the dealer pulled it loose and...

Re: 06 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Problem wih Dash Cluster

Good idea on the battery. It's less than a year old but things sometimes die young. :) When the old one died the dash lit up like a Christmas tree.

I forgot to mention the AC blower stopped...

Re: 06 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Problem wih Dash Cluster

My 2005 WK just started doing this a few days ago. Driving at night the exterior lights flashed, then went out, dash lights out (radio stayed on), then the whole dash lit up again all in about half...

Re: Transmission Downshifting at Cruise Speed

I'll take another look. It was hitting 104 when I was working on it so my patience was a bit thin. The rear sensors were fairly simple with asingle bolt. Just took a little elbow grease to get them...

Re: Transmission Downshifting at Cruise Speed

Well it's fixed I think. :) The PCM swap didn't solve the problem. The dealer ended up changing the TPS and that appears to have taken care of it. That's a bit weird since I had already replaced...

Re: Transmission Downshifting at Cruise Speed

No, this is happening without using cruise control. Just driving on a flat road with my foot on the gas at steady speed.
Just updated my post in the WK forum but the dealer was finally able to...

Re: Weird Transmission Downshifting

I finally threw in the towel and took it to the dealer... twice. The first time they couldn't replicate the issue but saw a DTC for a rear wheel speed sensor which they replaced. Unfortunately, that...

Re: Weird Transmission Downshifting

Thanks guys. I'm not getting any overtemp DTCs. Also, the PRND display looks normal ("D" still displays the whole time). Would an ESM issue show up on the gear display?

On the brake system, is...

Transmission Downshifting at Cruise Speed

I have a 2005 WK Grand Cherokee, 4.7L

The tranny is doing an odd thing fairly regularly. I'll be driving along at 60mph or so and it will shift out of overdrive. Sometimes it feels like it's...

Re: How to remove temperature/ac/heat knobs?

Just in case you didn't know this, the "D" in LED stands for Diode. That means that unlike bulbs, LED's won't work if installed backwards.

They also won't respond as smoothly to a dimmer that's...

Re: my a/c heater only work on high...

Yep, the resistor pack is probably bad. I had to replace mine in a 2005 4.7l WK. It's easy to do.

The pack is most easily accessed through the glove box. The hinged portion of the glove box is...
