Cylinder head failure now on 2013 3.6

FYI, I also belong to the Jeep Wrangler Forum. Unfortunately we are having the latest 3.6 engine cylinder heads, coded as AC heads failing. These are on the 2013 models. Has there been any reported...

Re: are all Wrangler rear ends limited slip?

The Sahara either has a opened, trac-lock, or limited slip rear diff. It has nothing to do with shifting it into 4 wheel drive.
The Rubicon has both front and rear electric lockers. You must shift...

Re: Help!! With Buying 08-13 JK Unlimited four door (NYC)

Yes, I had the 4 speed in my 2003 Tj and now the 5 speed in my 2013 Rubicon. There is no comparison, the 5 speed is that much better. I suggest that you go and take a test drive on a new one and then...

Re: Help!! With Buying 08-13 JK Unlimited four door (NYC)

It's only a small percentage that have the defective heads, but why take a chance. You can check the coding on the heads, the original ones that failed were AA heads, then the update which had fewer...

Re: Help!! With Buying 08-13 JK Unlimited four door (NYC)

If gas mileage is important to you than get the pentastar 3.6 engine. I would stay away from the 2012s, because some have defective cyclinder heads and water pumps. Go with a 2013 sport with 3:21...

Re: Just arrived at my dealer

That one is great looking! I hope that you get and when you do, WOW, you will be in for a lot of enjoyment!

I don't know how much they are asking for it, but a good rule of thumb is that you...

Re: Wranglers are not for tall people!

I am not sure that I understand why? I am 6ft 2inch, long wasted and wear a ball cap and my head has all kinds of room. Mine is a JK 2door, I don't know if that makes any difference. Did you try...

Re: Wranglers are not for tall people!

I am 6ft 2 and I have all kinds of room. Mine is a 2013, which has the new revised front seats. They are higher verses prior year models. You will find that the 2012's may fit your height...

Re: Mothers Back-To-Black

I'm in Phoenix, where the sun really does a number on the plastics. I used it on a 2003 Jeep wrangler, where the fenders were almost a grayish white. I put two coats on the and really rubbed it in...

Re: Manual vs Auto

If you get a Rubicon go with the new 5 speed automatic, with the 4:10 ratio. Non- Rubicon go with the automatic with the 3:73 ratio. The new 5 speed automatic is great for both highway and off...

Re: Does the 3.6 oil filter has a anti siphon valve?

KKreit01,

Thank you for responding! I'm not sure why it is designed to drain back, but I also suspected that it was.

Does the 3.6 oil filter has a anti siphon valve?

Does the Pentastar 3.6 engines oil filter have a anti siphon check valve, or does the oil drain back to the crankcase every time that you shut it off?
