Re: Maxcare opinions

With all the electronics on this vehicle and the air suspension ($3000+ compressor) and my plans to keep it as long as possible, the MaxCare lifetime was a no brainier for me. Of, course, you have to...

Re: 5.7L Hemi - where's the horsepower hiding?

The axle ratio for the older Hemi's was 3.73 compared to the much taller 3.09 ratio used currently for better fuel economy. That taller ratio adversely affects acceleration, although the 8 speed's...

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

Love our WR G3's. Excellent winter performance up here on the mountain and no noticeable noise at all. Love that they have the same tread wear rating as the Latitudes.

Re: 2015 JGC 5.7 Top End?

I would verify that the dealer can't tell if it's been unlocked to install and then uninstall a tune. I know that when a GM vehicle is brought in for a power train issue under warranty, the PCM must...

Re: Need help with electronic shifter question

You can configure this in the Settings menu - I like having the gear displayed next to "D", just wish it was a little brighter.

Re: Whats your choice of oil for your WK2?

Yes, the V8 specifies the 5W-20 for the MDS system to work properly. 5W-30 is usually recommended to provide good cold starting lubrication and good fuel economy. LOTS of opinions (and previous...

Re: Fantom engine startup

The button with the circular arrow surrounding the X2 is the remote start which can be "pocket started" under certain conditions. Doesn't yours have this button?

No, it just means it arrived at the dealership with 7.5 gals of gas courtesy of Jeep.

Re: Capless Gas Tank Stories

It's easy for gas to run out the top and spill all over the place because the pump won't automatically shut off. Taught me not to try to top it off anymore.

All of my owner's manuals advise not...

Re: V8s- Which gas do you use?

MANY,MANY threads on this! Although 89 is recommended, 87 is perfectly fine. A very slight loss of power "might" be noticed.

Re: How long does an order take?

Once you become a Level 3 or higher member, I think all you need to do is send him a PM with the VIN, order number, and the name of the ordering dealer.

Yes you will get updates but they're notoriously outdated. The most current info can be found by becoming a premium member and your updates will be up to the minute.

Re: Problems to look for when buying a used 2014 Overland

V8 transmission is built by ZF in Germany while the V6 is built by Chrysler. There have been far fewer issues with the V8 transmission.

I change my own oil, but I asked a service technician at the dealership about this and he said the correct amount is 7.5 quarts (at least for the V8) even though the manual says 7. He said that for...

Re: No Sound 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

There's a known issue with the amp communicating with the computer and a reflash is necessary to correct it. Sorry I don't have the TSB #.

Re: 0-60 times JGC V6 & V8

Can't speak for Jeep, but I know that any "unlocking" of the ECU for any reason altering the stock tune voids the warranty with GM on my Z06 and CTS-V. In fact, some have done this and had problems...
