Re: 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee - No Start - Cranking normally - Sometimes will start

If it's not starting due to the crank sensor it will kick out a code. When the crank sensor went out on my Jeep it wouldn't start and threw a code right away. Came back 1 hour later and it started...

Re: ball joint replacement

Autozone, Advanced Auto, and O'Reilly all have a free loaner program where you can borrow a ball joint press. You put a payment on them when you take them and then get it back when you return.

Re: What's your Maintenance Cost?`

I would say it would easily be 3x the cost if I included labor. I replaced the rear main seal and that was a $15 job for the main seal and $25 for an oil pan gasket. Take it to a shop and that's...

What's your Maintenance Cost?`

I keep a log of all the maintenance I do to my vehicle. If something gets changed then I log the date, mileage, and part cost. This weekend while talking to a couple different people on different...

Re: rear suspension noise.

I've also found that if I hit the tire with my fist, I hear a metal noise that could be the cause of the rattle. I think it's something in the parking brakes that is loose. I keep waiting for my rear...

Re: Shock change

Also worth noting is that the nut on the rear lower mount is welded in place.

If your Jeep is anything like mine, that location is going to be covered in corrosion and dirt. I put the impact on...

Re: Swapping the cv axle to a u joint style axle

I don't know what axles are interchangeable, but it's going to depend on what axles are currently in your Jeep. I would start by figuring that out.

I wonder if it's still using the stock brakes and takes 10 miles to stop.

Re: Snow - gears

What transfer case do you have? Whichever one it is, I would recommend driving in 4HI in the snow. Like was stated earlier, remember 4wd doesn't help you stop any better. It just helps you get...

Re: Bull Bars

I believe it most likely connects to the same location as the tow hooks. The bolts would pass through the bottom of the front frame rails.

Re: Quadra drive popping, humming front end area.

That's true for a standard 4wd system (something like Selec-Trac). But Quadra-drive is a full time 4wd system that's used on dry pavement. If you look at the drive selector there are only 3 options:...

Re: 4.7 HO, recommended oil weight?

Re: Click or slight clank in rear end 04 GC LE 8 cyl (not HO)

I would start by checking fluid levels of the rear differential and the transfer case. After that, I would check CV and U joints and rear upper ball joint.
