It will first act as if there's a dead battery & give me no lights, no crank, nothing....

4.0 valve cover gasket

I'm looking for some good input, or a good write up on replacing the valve cover gasket & repairing the lifters (standard cold start tick) on my '02 4.0 wj. Just want to make sure I don't overlook...

Re: Clunking noise fron transfer case?

I changed the t-case fluid last spring, the diffs I will be changing shortly. The thing that gets me is it sounds just like when the ball joints go bad, but that's not the problem. What about the...

Clunking noise fron transfer case?

I posted a couple weeks ago about what I thought was a rear end noise that we had narrowed down to the rear upper ball joint and/or control arm. I've had the vehicle at the shop this week & they...

Re: '02 wj differential service

Yeah I think I remember seeing something about that on the 75w-140, & that it's made specifically for limited slip diffs. I'm probably going to pull the covers anyway to make sure any metal is...

Re: Transmission fluid

Just like all these other guys are saying, unless you want to burn your hands, drop a hot tranny pan on the ground & make a huge mess, let it cool off. And letting it sit overnight is always better...

Re: ignition coil

Those ignition coils generally don't need to be replaced unless they are faulty. Most of the time new plugs will do it. I noticed the last time I did mine the rubber coil boots were wearing down,...

'02 wj differential service

I'm planning on changing the fluid in my front & rear diffs in the next few weeks. I know I need 75w-140 synthetic, but I'm wondering if I know for sure that I have limited slip since I have the...

Re: Rear end noise

Well I appreciate the advice. I was underneath again today checking out everything & its all in good shape. I checked the u-joints & springs again & they're fine, the exhaust has a minimal amount...

Re: Rear end noise

Thanks for the reply. I took a really good look at everything when I has the wheels off to do the shocks & stabilizer links. I thought it might be the exhaust bouncing too, but it has a normal...

Rear end noise

Hey guys my '02 Grand Cherokee WJ has recently started making a knocking noise when the rear wheels hit bumps. It's gotten worse over the last week & now when I take off from a stop it happens for...
