Re: 2005 WK Hemi headers

IF you want more low end, I suggest to go a different route than headers. I hated mine too, and love the low end on my 5.7 now, hauls butt with catch can, 85mm TB, Apexi, and Hemifever CMR tune....

Re: I hate how my Jeep shifts

Stock shifting sucks for sure, I hated mine too. Hemifever changed all that with my Diablosport Intune, and now has far better shifting, smooth when easy on the go pedal, and grabs real firm when...

Re: Tire time again, what's the latest consensus?

Cooper Discoverer AT3 if you still want an AT tire; best AT tire I've tried for all around use, great off road, also in snow and not very noisy at speed, still corners great after 40k miles too. ...

Re: What to Upgrade or Replace for front suspension...Advice

I would also replace the upper strut mounts in the front. They are metal and contain new rubber isolators since you can't just buy replacement isolators for the upper mount. I used Monroe's. ...

Re: What to Upgrade or Replace for front suspension...Advice

SRT bars make it handle a LOT better, but it rides about 20 percent harsher and bouncier over rough roads. Offroad it is certainly best with the WK stockers, not the SRT's. Addco's are even...

Re: stuttering problem

Agreed, probably the cheapo gas, as no symptoms til then. Another point is don't buy gas from any station where the tanker is there refilling. When they fill the stations tanks, it stirs up the...

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

Yup, FSD's are 3x the cost of WK Bilsteins, but are sooooo much better handling, and with a smoother, much more controlled and flat ride. They are the best for non-lowered WK's. I would...

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

Yeah, if the road is smooth they are not bad, but there are no smooth roads where I live, and Bilsteins bounced mine around severely, also created a number of squeaks and rattles from harsh impacts...

Re: 2014 GC Overland Tires

Cooper just released many more sizes of their 2014 new product award winning SRX tire. Positive reviews and are also not expensive. AT3 are great off road, a bit noisy but fairly quiet for an AT...

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

WK Bilsteins, front and rear, bought from Tirerack..not sure of the number designation, but they were way to high pressured, with awful rebound control.

Re: Another 5.7L issue.

Perhaps my post was confusing; you are correct that no tune is needed, with an 85mm TB, it is however needed for dialing in A/F on an 87mm, according to the the supplier at Modern Muscle.

Re: Another 5.7L issue.

When I spoke with the Hemi experts at Modern Muscle, they told me to go with the 85mm for street use, as drivability is great all around since the variable porting preserves low end torque. I...

Re: How to make a 5.7 Hemi sound like an actual 5.7 Hemi

To each his own, Jeep 5.7 exhausts/mods (except SRT manifolds) and CAI are all just noisemakers with no performance added, most actually lose low end which makes driving less fun, and uses more...

Re: AFE Momentum GT CAI - anyone tried it?

X2, don't listen to the manufcturers marketing BS, a CAI for the Jeep 5.7 is a total waste of money. I removed mine (AFE II) after a year and found it actually drove worse than stock with a loss...

Re: Air intake upgrade needed?

Your LT tires are not stock size, the diameter is larger, changing the final drive ratio, the same effect as taller gearing. This results in slower accelleration, the effect you are experiencing.

Re: knock when shifting to drive and on decel

Resistance could be sticking caliper. After driving it, pull over and feel each of the wheels, and if one is hot, the caliper is sticking. What engine do you have the idle problem with ?

Re: Hemi or diesel based on this criteria (Canada)....

Around here gas is much cheaper than deisel, so I'd go Hemi, and with some simple bolt on upgrades the 5.7 pulls notably harder, particlularly at lower rpm than stock. at 110k, mine runs far better...

Re: Another 5.7L issue.

Also, I see you have an 87mm TB. If you are not aware, this absolutely requires a tuner and a dyno / datalogged custom tune. At WOT you will risk blowing up your Hemi running on a stock tune.

Re: Another 5.7L issue.

The catch can is probably full, and when you go full throttle, it is sucking in liquid into the intake. Loss of power is from this, and also the cloud out the exhaust. In the winter temps, the BT...

Re: Suspension issue just had front struts done.

Re: Should the computer be reprogrammed when there is a wheel/tire circumference incr

Get a Diablosport Intune with a CMR tune from Hemifever. Well worth the extra cost for CMR, as the canned Diablo tunes do very little.

Re: 2015 WK Tire/Wheel Questions

Carquest sells Xerex also and the G-5 is good for 150k. THis is OEM equiv. and uses propylene glycol, which does not mix with ethyene glycol, used in most other coolants.
