Re: Experience 275/55/20 flat tire

It will not cause any damage, the front and rear differentials are designed to handle speed differences between the wheels, and also between the front and rear axles. They are not lockers or tight...

Re: Loud Hitch

I used these, unfortunately they are out of production now. You tighten the pin and it wedges into place solidly. I do have two left over from my jeep, one steel 6" drop and one aluminum 6" drop if...

Re: Nitto Terra Grappler Lifespan????

On mine they were very good for up to 30k, the next 5k still ok, just starting to get to the harder compound. Note they till had good tread depth, just started getting more slippery in the wet.

Re: Need advice. Quadra Lift system has failed for the 3rd time in 3 Months.

I had the same compressor not shutting down issue on my 2011. Even after control unit replacement, it was not resolved. I had no leaks in the system, just the compressor would not respond to the...

Re: Icy day in North Texas

On the 2nd day today We have a lot of sheet ice, very tricky even in the wk2. It was much easier yesterday when it was sleet/slush. I took my z50 mini bike out for a spin to check out the...

Re: MPG Thread and Cost of the diesel in your area.

It may be the winter blend fuel in your area. That can reduce the mileage, try refilling from a different station. Diesels are very sensitive to fuel quality as far as mileage is concerned.

Re: Gas mileage after new tires - Whine with my cheese

After the speedo correction, 1-3mpg decrease is normal, for switching to a taller, haevier, and more aggressive tread tire. I lost 2mpg going to a 31.5" Nitto AT tire. The tire itself is 14lbs...

Re: tire swap (to LT and 265/65-18)

The larger diameter really only has a speedomenter error impact, that and the loss of mileage and power. All the systems work fine, i've run 31.5" for almost 3 years now on these wk2's. The 32"...

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

The canned diablo 87 tune shift feel was much closer to stock, but with different shift points, and a bit more torque. Sean's 89 was much firmer shifting, and had more power too, but I wanted shift...

Re: Hitch height

On mine the load leveling shocks can't bring the rear back to the previous height with 500-600lbs on it. It does squat a little tail down initially, but the shocks pump up to about level, which is...

Re: 20" Nitto Terra Grapplers

The only tuner available (diablo) claims to be able to adjust tire diameter, but it causes an ABS error code which cannot be cleared. So no solutions available yet for this. As mentioned above, the...

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

The hemifever tune on my 2013 still works in sport mode. The shift points feel a bit different, and it kicks down a little earlier, but overall, the engine and trans respond so well in auto, that...

Re: 2013 5.7 Hemi High Performance Programmer?

I've driven a few days now with Hemifever's 89 tune, and it is a real seat of the pants difference from stock. It really helps pull my larger tires and wheels with a less effort. Mileage is about...

Re: 2013 5.7 Hemi High Performance Programmer?

Re: Is it possible to lock the center diff?

The rock and sand settings do lock the center diff. I have driven back onto hardpack in those modes and noticed the binding while making tight turns. Snow does not.

Re: 2012 WK2 reliability, it finally happened

You will be fine unless you start getting the 'service air suspension immediately' warnings on the DIC. Your problem is likely a low nitrogen charge or failing compressor, both are simple fixes.

Re: Towing - High Engine Oil Temps

I tow about 5000lbs with a car on an open trailer with my Hemi. That is less wind drag though. I see oil temps in the 205-220 range on the freeeways in 90-100 degree temps. A bit higher in stop...

Re: Failed Rear Coupler

The differential and driveshafts don't move with the suspension action with the independent suspension, so that should not be causing the issue. My 2011 had many more miles than that with towing and...

Re: Issues with your HEMI???

Re: wheel offset / backspacing question

Go with the +20 offset. That pushes the wheel and tire out 36mm further, almost 1.5" more per side. If you can find something in the +25 or +30 range it would be better, especially for stock ride...

Re: V8 vs mythical crd

A good answer is to lease a hemi now for 1-2years, then you can decide on switching for the CRD, and it locks in your costs /depreciation on the hemi. You may come out ahead if the hemi resale value...

Re: Lifted my 2014 !

The 0- 12 offsets stick out much further, and cause more clearance issues up front while turning, so you have to level or lift with those wheels to get more clearance. +30 - +20 are closer to stock,...

Re: 2012 GC won't keep Alignment

Re: Thinking about building a ridiculous WK2 on 35's.... Thoughts?

The QL controller has not been hacked yet, so that will limit what you can do. A flexible option would be to start with a non QL vehicle, then use the air spings and front struts, with aftermarket...

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

The fender trims are wider and different from the srt's or other models. Also looks to have a rear skid plate of sorts. Really nicely done, and on 35's!

Re: 2014 Summit with trailering package & no brake controler?

Re: Diesel People - Enlighten Me? (2014)

Re: Upgrades to make the WK2 a sportier drive?

Re: New GC 13 oil change?

I did my first one at 5k, but 8k is fine unless it is all city driving. It is so reasonable (less than $30 at my dealer) I go every 4-5k since my driving has a lot of towing and city miles.
