Re: 4-Wheel Drive System on Summit Question.

Its a judgement call only you can make.

Its not an option on the V6 because the V6 may not have enough power to spin the wheels :) ... but more likely some bean counter decided this was the most...

Re: 4WD behaviour

I think you are seeing transmission issues, especially the lag. QD would have no influence on that behavior.

I've not had the same experience with my 2011 QD V8 and the older 5 speed...

Re: ALL NEW NITTO NT421Q in 265/50 VR 20

I can second the thumbs up. I drove in the rain for the first time Friday and these tires are just as confidence inspiring on wet roads as they are on the dry. Seem to be an excellent tire. They do...

Re: QTII/QDII Differentials

There have been quite a few posts with discussion/descriptions. Both front and rear diffs are open unless you have the QD option (ELSD is what makes QTII into QD). Mechanical limited slips or lockers...

Re: How do I get "Trail Rated"?

Trail rating is a marketing gimmick, regardless of the marketing information on Jeeps web site, basically it is just a badge. Buy the badge, stick it on and your just as trail rated as any other....

Re: Winter tires for next year

Winter tires are a compromise, the best ones for you depend a lot on driving conditions. Aggressive threads are good for snow and mud, are loud, and don't handle wet or dry roads or ice well. Tread...

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

Think marketing. QD is standard on my 2011 Overland, but it is not mentioned on the window sticker. QT-II is however. Perhaps marketing thinks QTII is a big deal and requires emphasis where QD is not...

Re: WK front ELSD on WK2?

It seems that the WKs used gerodisc limited slip and lockable diffs, where the WK2 now uses a electric motor controlled rear diff, there is no limited slip feature built into the Diff itself, but the...

Re: Trail Rated?

Question has been answered often here and on other forums over and over again over the past couple of years. it is all about the badge. Dunno why some here want to read something else into it.

Re: Quadra-lift bottoming

Lots of discussion here of the limited suspension rebound on ORA modes. The Suspension is extended for ORA and there is not much rebound room left. What you are feeling are the wheels lifting off...

Re: Cold Weather Diesel Operation WK2

A block heater makes big difference. Strong batteries is another. A garage is good. I don't think the WK2 diesel injectors can take idling for prolonged periods (gas engine injectors or the old...

Re: Laredo Roof Rails on Overland?

Be careful, while fooling with the fasteners, to not poke a hole in the side air bags that lay under some of that area.

Re: fog led

The first two seems to have the same 6000K temperature, the third (H16) will need to be trimmed to fit and is 5000K. What color temp do you want?

I also have the first one on your list and they...

Re: Quadra Drive II vs. Quadra Trac II

When we asked awhile ago, Jeep engineering said the WK2 traction computer is so much more processing power (quicker response) and with updated algorithms that front ELSD is of insignificant benefit,...

Re: Low Tire Pressure

You just raise the psi until the warning resets. It should reset within 20 minutes of driving. After the reset, you can use whatever psi you like (should be posted on your door).

Re: Locker for WK2

Its only the Quadra Drive II that has the ELSD. The Quadra Drive options adds the ESLD to the QT II transfer case. QT II is an open rear.

Re: Quadra Drive II vs. Quadra Trac II

It appears the audio is not correct

"QTII instantly transfers torque to the 'slipping axle' "

Both QT II and QD II use the same transfer case which has a limited slip diff internally, so if...

Re: Quadra Trac 1 situation/capabilities

Jeep claims 90% so if one axle is completely off the ground you get 90% of the engine power to the axle on the ground. I haven't seen anyone actually measure it. A locked transfer case would provide...

Re: Quadra Trac 1 situation/capabilities

There was a thread months ago that went into the specifics but basically you are wrong about the QT1 used in the WK2. The transfer case is never locked, it is alway open. It uses a open differential...

Re: New to GC,need advice on QT II vs QD II

QD (which is just a limited slip rear diff) will do a little better on steep slippery slopes, 12 inches of fresh heavy snow, or several inches of mud, situations that you are unlikely to encounter...

Re: Can someone explain QTII a little better to me?

Its not a full lock system that's set up for 100%. QT II can put about 90% of engine power on one axle or the other. QD adds a limited slip to the rear dif (90%), so eventually about 80% of the...
