Re: Coolant temps

3.2L

Sure doesn't work like a manual as you have to get used to the delay. The brakes got hot (there is a stop a couple of miles from the top and they check them) and we had to let them cool off...

Re: EVIC message - 4WD not available transmission overheated

Another update. Yesterday we ran the transmission temp up to 196, higher than it has ever been. Also ran the coolant temp to 228.

Circumstances. 19 mile trip up the mountain to Pikes Peak. ...

Re: Coolant temps

Yesterday I ran the coolant temp in our Cherokee Limited 3.2 up to 228.

Doesn't get this high very often. Today it was around 200 much of the day with ambient temp as high as 88 degrees.

Why...

Re: Screw in tire

You were correct. They showed the list for the tire at $275 but only charged me $241 ($55 more than Canadian Tire would have charged). Then installation and balancing plus tax took it up to $299.

Just an update. No further warning messages so the fix worked. Will be Las Vegas and Phoenix with the jeep in the next two weeks with temps about 95 or more so that will be the final test. :)

Re: Screw in tire

Ahhh. My son works in Michigan and both of his replacements were while driving in Michigan.

The screw in mine was on the edge right below the sidewall and just above the foot - in the curve.

And you can guess what DW means. It is RV lingo. We never heard these terms until we got our first MH 11 years ago.

BTW, we keep a photocopy of pages 541 to 546 of the Operators Manual in the glove box of the Jeep. They describe the step by step process of going into and out of neutral in the transfer case.

Agree. I think I'm going to use the outlet in the armrest and if it causes a problem (the Colorado, Tahoe and Escape didn't) then I'll consider a separate 12V receptacle.

Widened it at the mouth to 1.5 inches. My son did the cutting on his metal band saw. Didn't appear to have any impact on the strength of the clevis.

8.4AN is outstanding and I've seen publications that have rated it tops in the world.

My additions:

Power co-pilot seat.
9th gear engaging at 65 mph
Adjustable pedals
Second 12V power outlet in the front
Softer suspension for the Limited. The OR suspension is just too jarring.
