HID's for JK

I've read a lot about HID's for the JK, but I'm confused about one issue:

Most of the kits I've seen are plug and play, I assume they use the same housing as the original headlights.

Is there...

Re: Lifetime warranty

You have to perform maintainance per the manual, but you're not required to do it at the dealer.

You do have to go in for a free inspection once every five years to keep the lifetime warranty...

Re: Deceleration shudder on V8

I have the same slight shudder...clunk on deceleration on my 02 GC.

Almost the same transmission and torque converter as the 2011 sorry to say. 9 years and they can't smooth out the driveline.

Re: Underwhelmed by HEMI

Not defensive at all. I just have no tolerance for BS.

If we're going to stray from manufacturers specs to get times, then:

That's a complete crock of shit. Tell yourself whatever you want to justify your decision to wait, but don't start posting BS performance comparisons.

Re: Underwhelmed by HEMI

I want to add that I have (still) a 2002 4.7 WJ too, and to be honest, I thought it was faster than the WK2.

It's not, and after 4000 miles, I think I know why it felt faster:

Because of the...

I've always hand washed and waxed my own vehicles, but never tried to fix paint flaws.

You really think the Hemi is "just as bad" as the V6?

Re: Dreaded Shudder or Something Else??

When MDS goes into 4 cylinder mode, the exhaust tone and perceived vibration do change.

Tow/Haul disables MDS.

Another factor could be tire pressure. The 20" wheels are very sensitive to...

Re: Why no TOW/HAUL Button on WK2 with Trailer Tow Group?

The primary reason is because the V8 needs to have MDS (4 cyl) mode disabled while towing, and the V6 doesn't have MDS.

It also disables overdrive, though I'm sure that's not the reason for the...

36k in 5 years? You are a seriously low mileage driver. I put that much on in 18 months, and with the lifetime coverage, I don't feel obliged to try and keep the miles down.

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

My last 7/100 warranty paid for itself 5 times over+. Most of that was in the 80-100000 mile range.

Obviously, if you don't keep vehicles beyond 7 years/100k the lifetime makes no sense.

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

$1900 doesn't go far in repairing ANY 2010+ vehicle.

A single HVAC system repair could exceed that.
