Re: I hate how my Jeep shifts

It's been about 5 years since I installed mine, and I did not remove the tune. I do remember that it worked like crap for almost a week until the PCM/TCM figured out what was going on. Ever since...

Re: I hate how my Jeep shifts

You've sure got that right. The best way I've found to fix it, without tearing down the transmission, is to add the Sonnax Line Pressure Booster and purchase a Superchips Tuner with the Advanced...

Re: Transmission Temperature PID

On my LX with the NAG1 the engine and trans. temps are the same (using my DashHawk) until you put it in gear. Then it reads the trans. temp. accurately. On my WK with the 545RFE, the DashHawk readout...

How to trash $200K of cool cars.

Now, this is the type of job I want. I'd probably even take any or all of the vehicles after they're done trashing them. Kind of a waste though.

Dodge performance trio thrashed on Roadkill...

Re: Nag1 722.6 Conductor Plate

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pl55H5sxmUc

And, I found a conductor plate on EBay for about $150 U.S.

Re: Nag1 722.6 Conductor Plate

I don't know about where to find the conductor plate, but someone on one of the Jeep forums posted a youtube video on how to replace it. I think it may have been a Mercedes shop's video. You may want...

Re: Switching to Synthetic Oil in High Mileage Engine

Like I said in my Post No. 23, with 253+K miles, it may be time to start thinking about some major engine work if you plan to keep the vehicle. For sure it's time to have someone that is...

Re: Switching to Synthetic Oil in High Mileage Engine

If you've been running synthetic forever, the innards of the engine are probably looking really good. It is possible that the dino. oil has gummed something up and, if it's a fairly high pitched...

Re: Switching to Synthetic Oil in High Mileage Engine

I would think that at 253K+ miles you'd probably be needing a heavier oil. What weight oil were you running with the synthetic? 5W30 seems a little light to me. Can you tell where the knock is coming...

Re: Switching to Synthetic Oil in High Mileage Engine

I'd go back to synthetic if you weren't having any problems. Kind of, if it ain't broke, don't fix it kind of thing. With that many miles you may have to go to a little heavier oil at some point, at...

Re: Switching to Synthetic Oil in High Mileage Engine

First, you're in the wrong forum. This is the later model Jeep forum. Second, check the oil level and make sure it is full. Third, look for oil leaks, as sometimes switching to synthetic at high...

You'll probably also see it under the oil filler cap during the winter. When it's not as damp in the summer all should look normal.

Re: New Transmission for our Jeeps

Yep, and that's the biggest reason not to take your ride to the dealership. Most of them do like to run the sunshine pump and upsell on things you don't want or need.

The wife adding oil to the engine

Yesterday I had the wife add a quart of oil to the engine. I don't think I'll let her do it again though, LOL. Notice she's a blond.

A big X2 on this one. If I see a tanker at the station, I won't go near it for at least 2 hours. If gives time for the crap to settle back to the bottom.

Re: Ignition coils and tb for 5.7

Yes, that is my opinion, and not just a cat back. Without improving the VE of the engine you'll only get minimal gains, if any. Again, IMO, some folks pay big $$$ for at TB and almost have to say it...

Re: Ignition coils and tb for 5.7

He has a 2010 which has the coil over both plugs. To change them to a higher output coil setup costs over $300. By the way, SOS makes them for the early Hemi's too, but you'll still need the Shorty...
