Re: 1998 ZJ JGC Rear Lamp Failure

The VIC is the info display that is telling you you have a tail light failure. To check for bad solder joints you would need to remove the VIC from the jeep and take it apart.

If your fuse and relay are good and you had no pressure or fuel from the line before the filter and you don't hear the pump than the pump has died. You are gonna have to drop the tank and replace the...

I'd say ball joints also. Have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth a few inches and look/listen for anything that is loose.

I had this once. Check all the bulbs and didn't find a burnt out one. It turned out to be I believe a 194 bulb in the rear lights, it was really hard to notice without pulling the lights out of the...

First make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight, jeeps are VERY temper mental when it comes to the battery connections. Next I'd disconnect the alarm altogether to see if it is the cause...

Try sliding the dimmer switch up and down, the one by the headlight switch not the one for switch between hi and low beam. The dimmer could be bad. If the lights come on or flicker when moving or...

Yep pretty sure 96-98 242's are a direct swap. You will need the longer arm for the shifter.

Re: One sick jeep

Yes the 5.9 has the 249 TC. If you were shifting the TC and not moving you're gonna get some grinding. While going 5-10mph put the trans in neutral and shift the TC from 4hi to 4lo, you're still...

The dimmer switch has nothing to do with the out side lights. It's the head light switch.

Re: what the Blank is going on.

Pretty sure when the dimmer switch is causing it it's just the dash lights that mess up. If all the outside lights are doing it I'd say it's the switch. I've heard of the auto setting doing some...

Well you shouldn't be smelling diff fluid cause TC take tranny fluid. Were you moving slowly with the tranny in neutral while shifting the TC? If your smelling diff fluid you may have other issues.
