Re: Rear upper A arm bushings

I see I'm a little late, but Dave is right. Grade 8 bolts and never seize. Can't use enough never seize living in the rust/salt belt.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Duratracs! Actually I've never ran either but a buddy with duratracs on his lifted 98 silverado has never gotten stuck despite being half buried in mud or snow. They are decent on road too, for...

Re: Moog for dummies

Moog standard replacement items are about as good as it gets. Very sturdy parts, its the brand I always try to chose. Especially over cheap store brands.

You wish you could get "aaron'ed":eek::eek:

From what it's worth my a-arm from Omix has held up just fine for 2 years now, but I did have the same problem where the replacement bushings...

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

I was blaming it on the harsh winter too, but it was still acting up when the weather got warmer so I got a replacement. I too am thinking it was that seal, although mine had more than enough fluid...

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

My first replacement was a "Fenco" brand from Advance that I had never heard of. They since switched to A1-Cardone, a much more reputable reman company. I have higher hopes for this pump.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Looks good travis! It would be interesting to know the trans temp, to see if its overheating on long trips or how long it takes to warm up on a cold day. I understand the reasoning but I've always...

Thanks for the research Frank. I was thinking of tossing this to flammables but if we can get back to the original topic from the OP I will leave it alone.

Thats impressive! Either you're taking really good care of it or not driving it enough!

So, I think I'm gonna have to check on the warranty on my power steering pump. The damn thing has...

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Happened to me several times in my old ZJ, there are tons of potential problems. Simple things first, make sure the tires are rotated and balanced properly. It could also be the steering stabilizer...

Re: Laredo vs Limited

The Laredos and limiteds share some features, but not others. Either model can have the 4.0L I6 engine or the 4.7L V8. The limiteds tend to have more "premium" options like heated leather seats,...

Re: Transmission Shavings?

Some small shavings on the magnet are normal wear, especially with that many miles on it. If the transmission is running normal I wouldn't worry about it. However if there were larger shavings on...

Both guys could be right, but I would start with Frango's suggestion. Get a can of carb/throttle body cleaner and pull off the resonator. Spray lightly in the throttle body and open it by hand to...

Re: Transmission troubles

The new solenoid pack fixes the problem of the trans going in to limp mode, it won't make a difference on the no TC lock up issue. Wouldn't hurt to change it before/during install of a used trans. ...

Re: Transmission troubles

Thats what I paid for mine. 99-03 "black plug" solenoids are the ones prone to fail, 04 and up "white plug" models (needs new TRS plate if installing in 99-03 trans) are the good ones. TRS plate...
