Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

Not yet. I had a brake upgrade, TB, and some engine bay dressing get in the way. I still need to get a new SD card, hopefully by this weekend.

Re: Need some help from Painting Pro's

I just ran into this same problem when painting my engine cover. After 2 days of struggling with it, I ran down to the local paint shop and they were a world of help. Here is what they recommended...

Re: High Mileage Question

My current WK has 110K on it and runs like new (2010). I maintain it with extreme analness (or so my dealer says). My '04 WJ had 200K+ before I traded due to a blown head gasket on the 4.7 HO. Ask...

Re: Painting your Calipers - An amusement

The good news is that the molasses came right off this morning with very little damage. I just needed to put on a light touch up coat. Now to let it dry and letter the Jeep logo in gloss black...

Re: Painting your Calipers - An amusement

For your amusement. I must say, I ran back out to snap these and most of the molasses has drained right off the caliper! Another HAPPY moment. It looks like the touch up may not be that bad.

Painting your Calipers - An amusement

Sigh

This is an adventure. I left out the half steps in between. Just know that each half step is either a beer, cigarette, or both.

Step 1) Order Powerslot slotted and frozen...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

I completely agree with you Doc.

The +12v at the battery is very noisy. I tapped into a +12v line at the ECM and found the same level of noise, but I am unsure if that was a supply line or an...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

SO I have some very preliminary results. When I arrived home last night I had all of the components and oscilloscope that I had ordered. Today I built the filter circuit, but no housing yet. I did...

Re: who has the most miles on their jeep

2010 WK 5.7 with 110,000 on it. Runs like the day she was new. Oil changes religiously every 3K and all maintenance performed at factory intervals. I did the same with my 04 WJ Overland and it had...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

The wonders of the web and technology!!! I just ordered a handheld oscilloscope for under $100!!! Now I will be able to test and hopefully prove my theory. I should have some results and data by...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

LOL, I don't blame you one bit. 0AWG wire costs a pretty penny these days. Your second battery will provide some power conditioning. And when the apocalypse hits, I want you in the neighborhood...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

I'm not arguing, but if you pay close attention I am talking about power conditioning PLUS grounding. If the Apexi does more than condition the electrical power, I would like for someone to explain...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

Most of the claims are pure marketing hype. All can be traced back to noisy power causing inconsistent sensor readings.

IF you do not have noisy power in your vehicle, you WON'T see any benefit...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

So I received the cheapie unit from ebay. $15 and a total POS. I opened it up before doing anything and it's a complete joke. I am now pursuing step 2 which is building my own filter with a...

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

It is quite possible that a HP gain does occur. More from refined power to the electronics than stable power providing direct HP. If this is the case (which I truly believe) then results will vary...

Re: 5.7 headers, 5.7 headers.....

I just pinged them again to see just what it would take for them to test and or modify for the 5.7L. If they get back to me with something serious, I'll post a more specific thread.

Re: 5.7 headers, 5.7 headers.....

I had some very brief email correspondence with BBK Performance today regarding their shorty headers for the LX platform. They said that they cannot be 100% certain of the fit, but it "should" work...
