Re: Supercharger for 3.6 V6 in development

I highly doubt it because for one a SC will introduce some parasite drag to the engine which normally hurts mileage when cruising and for two the SC will increase airflow and power which will...

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

My Magnaflows on my 5.7 WK2 drone. I have had so many different exhaust setups on several V8 cars, trucks, and SUVs over the years. Of them all I still prefer the original 40 series flowmasters...

Re: doing head gasket on 4.7 help

Those marks look like corrosion from the coolant but they could be due to crushed up pieces of the plug insulator. Are they sharp feeling or more dull?

Re: Where Is My Coolant Going??

A lot of times you can smell where the leak is. I know it sounds weird but coolant has a weird sweet smell. I found 2 tiny radiator leaks on our ranger work trucks where the plastic end tanks seal...

Re: Another New noise...

Does it grind when you start it? if so, the starter solenoid may be sticking. You know that noise when you accidently turn the key when the engine is running?

Re: Anyone on here running 15x10 steelies?

Thanks. There are a few I have found running 15x8s with 4" backspace and most have not had to grind their calipers at all so I went ahead and ordered some 15x10 bart steel wheels with 4" backspace. I...

Re: Anyone on here running 15x10 steelies?

Anyone? If not I guess I am going to be the first to try them. I am looking at either a 4" or 5" backspace as the stock wheels as approx 6" backspace (17x7.5" +50 offset)

Re: Tyre size options ?

Weird, a 245/65/17 is quite a bit smaller than a 245/70/17.

I think it will work. The 08s are very different but the 05 and 04 motors are the same as far as I know.

Just an estimate if all it needs is the bottom end rebuilt. $2500 is insane.

Re: Remove CATS = Time Bomb ?

Nope just the 2 upstream O2 sensors. The rear one or two just tell the ECM if the cats are working properly.

Re: Tyre size options ?

You could run a 235/70/17 or maybe a 245/70/17 with some minor trimming of the bumper. Might give you more tire options.

Re: My new to me WJ!!

You would want the ECM out of the 4.7L HO Jeep ideally because the tuning is different for the two engines.

Re: Need a 01-04 4.7 v8 ASAP

Rock auto has brand new 4.7 long blocks for about 2K. if it is just a spun bearing have it rebuilt should not cost more than $800 including labor if that is all that is wrong with it.

Re: Best Generation Grand Cherokee Relative to its Era

Yes for the most part the hardware is very similar. ZJ is no more offroad worthy than a WJ is both have the same setup IMHO.

Re: Remove CATS = Time Bomb ?

Upstream means close to the combustion source and downstream further from the combustion event (post catalyst in this case). Jeeps are speed density tuned. As such they have no MAF to measure intake...

Re: Remove CATS = Time Bomb ?

Yes this is correct. Factory sensors are narrowband though so not super accurate like a WB and PE is open loop on the 4.7 so no A/F monitoring or adjusting goes on at WOT. So, in theroy his vehicle...

Re: Best Generation Grand Cherokee Relative to its Era

The WJ looks way more agressive then a ZJ and it is not like the ZJ has any more clearance or better approach and departure angles stock or with both lifted to the same height.

Re: Best Generation Grand Cherokee Relative to its Era

What is wrong with a WJ? 4.7L V8 is much improved over 5.2 or 5.9. WK1 is my least favorite as I feel it is the least offroad capable GC ever. For me it is WK2, WJ, ZJ, WK.

The ACC has the radar that controls it maybe the radar on the front bumper is excessively dirty? If not bring it to the dealer it has an electronic issue somewhere.
