Re: Paint Defect in 2014 Billet Silver

I've washed and waxed my 07/2014 Billet Silver from stem to stern and haven't seen the oval imperfections being mentioned here. Either they fixed the problem before they got to mine or I just got...

Re: Check your air filter

I changed out my air filter a month ago when I reached 20,000 miles. The old one was in good shape, no cracks or anything, but was fairly dirty (as expected). I gained 1 mpg after putting the new...

I'm willing to bet that the debate over cotton vs microfiber would continue even if we had graphene paint... (grin)

Re: Winter's Coming - Let's talk snow tires

I agree with this.

I live in the Northeast and I have Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 all terrain tires on mine and they work well in the snow, a bit better than most A/T tires. However, dedicated...

Re: 1st Wash

Um, waxing the roof takes a whole 5 minutes because.... its flat... and I have a step ladder... clay barring would easily take another 1 - 2 hours if you did the whole Jeep.

But, everyone has...

Re: Windshield wipers recommendation for '11 WK2

I first replaced the OEM blades with Rain-X Weather beaters earlier this summer. They look like cheap wipers and left streaks on my 2014 Limited.

I just bought Goodyear Hybrid wipers from the...

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Interesting.... I never knew that there were anti-idling laws. Turns out that in Massachusetts you can idle for up to 5 minutes. There are exemptions, including idling to clear frost, snow, ice,...

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

It sounds to me like your problem has more to do with poorly aimed fog lights and/or after market installs. Factory fog lights are aimed so that they only light up the road directly in front of the...

Re: Capless fuel filler and dust

Velcro? I would only use a bit of velcro, though, as the hinges on the Jeep fuel door aren't all that durable and too much velcro can require a lot of force.

Wouldn't using foam push on the door...

It's nice to know that this feature exists. Now we know that if the same behaviour (check engine light, car won't go over 30/35mph) occurs to check the oil level.

I wonder if the guy changing...

Re: Oil changes - SO easy

I buy my own oil and take it to the dealer. They charge me about $20 for the filter and the oil change. The biggest savings for me is only having to change the oil twice a year.

Re: My first recovery didn't go so well

Good point. With a short strap you could probably get away with one sail in the middle, but two (one on each end) would definitely be safer.
