They won't hurt anything -- other than your wallet. You can also use generic rare earth magnets, hard drive magnets, etc.

Disabled Seat Belt Chime on 2014 JGC

I have confirmation now that I was able to disable my annoying seatbelt chime on my 2014 JGC Overland.

I did it following these instructions.
