Yes another mystery, as you all probably know the 2011 through end of 2013 Grand Cherokees all had a metal door - no issues. Cheap has a way of biting you.

Thanks for the info my dealer said they had never heard of the problem, my sump was actually warped ( back left hand corner ) new sump and gaskets etc fitted, will see how it goes.
