Re: Doors Off WK2?

The Grand Cherokee was probably not designed to run without doors. Closed doors could be part of the structure that keeps everything rigid when bouncing over rough ground or in a collision or roll.

Re: Problem with this forum

I would also agree that today most vehicles (not just Jeeps) have engines that can, with proper care, outlast many other expensive parts. I've ridden in a number of older cars that had perfectly good...

Re: GC purchase in need

I've gotten a few "we need your car" fliers from a dealership that handles a competing make over the past few months. The funny part is that their suggested replacement is not a comparable model so...

Re: My nuts are swollen

I have never personally experienced it, but I have heard of it happening. A layer of rust can sometimes form between the strong metal inside that really holds your wheel on and the pretty cap outside...

Re: Disabling cellular modem on 2014 8.4AN?

I just did a little looking to see if there was any new information on this subject, and I found a forum thread where somebody was looking in to disabling cellular or using a different carrier for a...

Re: To each is own

The front end isn't really that different from the extra chrome package on the Wrangler. But I don't understand why it doesn't have chrome wheels when it has chrome everywhere else.

Maybe Chrysler...

Re: New technique makes it easy to break in and steal GC

Last winter I heard about a string of car thefts where some group was driving around in the morning looking for cars running with nobody in them. People would start the engine to warm the car and...

Re: 9 speed transmission?

A couple of times I've read that you'd have to be doing somewhere over 80 to keep the engine speed in the proper range in 9th gear on the Cherokee.

As for why they'd give you a high gear you can't...

Re: LED DRLs - can we stop the "winking"

I would like to see the brightness cut down, but not because of the tiny amount of extra fuel burned. I've found that DRLs on some newer cars are bright enough that they wash out other things in the...

Re: LED DRLs - can we stop the "winking"

I like to sit on the front bumper. But it really seems to bother the other drivers on the interstate when I do that. I don't know why, I always set the cruise control before I climb out the window.

Re: Grand Cherokee is a winner....and Cherokee is too!

I still find the front end hideous, but I don't really think the back of the Cherokee is that bad. I do find that on the road a Cherokee in front of me looks nearly indistinguishable from a Kia, so I...

Re: leather vs. pleather

I've seen very similar comments about BMW, except that they make it harder to get the synthetic (real leather is part of option packages that are on almost every car). I've never done any serious...

Re: Just boggles the mind

When I hear people talk about using smartphones instead of GPS units for navigation, I can't help but think, "There's somebody who must not venture outside of cellular coverage very often."

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

That sounds like part of the computer that controls the DEF system. By now they're probably running out of components to check.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

How about "cash green"? It would be a Summit-only color, and they could announce it at the same time as a price increase.

Re: AC compressor is not staying engaged

If it's cycling on and off that fast and it bothers you it may be worthwhile to make sure you're not low on refrigerant.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I think the mopar part people thought might cover it turned out to be the skid plate for the urea tank, which is already included with the factory skid plates on the diesel.

Re: Just What Is An Altitude????

I'm not an expert on the topic, but my impression is that used car pricing (both buying and selling) often has more to do with what's actually installed than with the name of the trim level.

Re: Changes for 2015?

They should add an ORA3 package. It would be just like ORA2, but would come standard with 26-inch gold spinners and Quadra-Lift would get a new "jump" setting that automatically engages when sensors...
