Re: Factory Hitch - Whose came with?

Incorrect. Overland and up have dual exhaust on V6(gas) .
Only the limited lost dual on 2015 v6 gas.

Re: Oil change required "early"

short trips is what is hard on oil because it does not get moisture out.
and winter short trips are worse than summer.

Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 Limited

I should also mention warped rotors (i. e. ones that cause vibration) should not be turned (sanded), they should be replaced.

It is possible for rotors to warp, pretty much any time.

Re: Map settings question about Map appearance 8.4AN (Possibly 8.4A also)

I must be really stupid because I've never seen traffic on my Map with 8.4AN on either 2014 limited or 2015 overland.

Re: Auto close rain sensing wipers

Yeah, I think we were just lucky with Ross-Tech on VW's that they "cracked" (i.e. mapped it all out) and made it reasonably cheap. With a lot of community help to help maintain mapping things out.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee Towing Question

I'd wait at least a 1000 miles.
I'd shut ECO mode off.
And I'd keep the trips shorter and slower at first.
Is that 4000lbs boat and trailer or just boat?
You will need a weight distribution hitch...

Re: Auto close rain sensing wipers

It's disabled by default on VW's in the USA due to liability I think, dealers will not enabled it.
I had to enable mine on the VW with a With a Ross-Tech VAGCOM adapter.

Once enabled it has...

Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 Limited

I find folks rarely turn rotors these days. That price is pushing what new rotors and pads would cost.

Hard to say if they should be done or not. It is possible.

I thought I read there will possible be new motors. Like Direct Injection on the V6. Which I, for one, would not want. Especially on the first year.

Re: 6 Months to '16 order banks.

If you want to avoid trouble, then I'd avoid the first year of a refresh model year.

My 2014 was a little fiddly on temp, nothing bad.
2015 seems better.

Re: Deal or no deal on remaining 2014 overland

Right that was a totally weird comment to make about cash. Plenty of good reasons to have vehicle dept. Several times I've sold a car that was paid for, to get cash for property. And immediately...

Re: 2015 Limited V6 loses dual exhaust

Ditto. I always thought the Hitch was a bargain. Most of the packages are pretty attractive price wise.

The few options that tic me off is.

Don't force me to get Panoramic Sunroof if I want...

Re: How to program modules w/o WiTech

I don't know about that sequence. But I've seen sequences like that on different cars that would either display codes or clear them. But for actual programming I suspect it will need the real deal.

Re: Deal or no deal on remaining 2014 overland

Typically 2-4 weeks. I would not be concerned if it's less than a year.
Even mine that sat for a couple months in frigid weather with tons of snow, I think the sunroof drains were frozen.

Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 Limited

A seized caliper can happen now and then.

I'd ask to do pads and rotor on the other side even if it's out of your pocket (shouldn't be that much). You want everything roughly the same age and...

Re: Deal or no deal on remaining 2014 overland

The cheapest 2014 Overland around that MSRP is around $43K (see cars.com or similar).

Lot depends on the deal you get on your trade.

Re: 2015 Limited V6 loses dual exhaust

If you want it to be factory, I suspect that will be VERY expensive and void the warranty on the exhaust.
That is partly why I went for the 2015 Overland when I replaced my 2014 Limited.

I don't...

Re: Lease vs Run into the Ground vs Replace every 1.5 years

Re: Lease vs Run into the Ground vs Replace every 1.5 years

Yes, I totally agree. Excise Tax would be much higher in the long run.

But that is "rightfully" so. You're taxed based on the luxury of a new Vehicle. Insurance would be higher too keeping a...

Re: Lease vs Run into the Ground vs Replace every 1.5 years

I agree you can make it look like what you want. But that's why I am asking. Did I miss something. It makes no sense it's effectively cheaper to keep replacing often than to run it into the ground.

Lease vs Run into the Ground vs Replace every 1.5 years

We used to replace our cars at around 100K. Usually took a loan...
