Would you say Cap. on each bank of 4 or Cap. at each plug? If either, wouldn't you find it hard to believe that both or all 8 went at once? Sometimes it's out of frequency with the fire but sometime...

Ok, solved the problem......I did replace the front right and left axle thinking maybe one of the CV are going bad, but once out I quickly realized they are OK, but with 165K on them, I could not...

Ok, had a chance to replace the front drive shaft, and to my amazement It did NOT fix the clicking. It just must be the front axle CV's as this clicking is now progressed to the point it will...

it looks as if the removal is simple. 8 bolt around the OD of the joint each side then it falls out. I am convinced it is this CV joint making the noise but I don't have time right now to remove...

Yes, I did try 4Lo and yes it made the same sound but even more clicking.

I hear what you are saying and agree, this shaft doesn't see full time torque, so why should it be bad, but will have to remove it to take a look. Yes both boots look OK.
