Re: Smoking on Start-Up

You'll probably also see it under the oil filler cap during the winter. When it's not as damp in the summer all should look normal.

Re: Smoking on Start-Up

If it's a Billet can, it'll hold about 4 oz. In the winter time, especially in very wet/damp areas, a lot of the stuff that the catch can picks up is condensation mixed with a little oil....many call...

Re: New Transmission for our Jeeps

Yep, and that's the biggest reason not to take your ride to the dealership. Most of them do like to run the sunshine pump and upsell on things you don't want or need.

The wife adding oil to the engine

Yesterday I had the wife add a quart of oil to the engine. I don't think I'll let her do it again though, LOL. Notice she's a blond.

Ha, Doc, you're sure right there.....Jeep missed the golden opportunity to improve their products. This was a good one though, wasn't it? I was rolling on the floor, because this guy was soooo cool...

Re: stuttering problem

A big X2 on this one. If I see a tanker at the station, I won't go near it for at least 2 hours. If gives time for the crap to settle back to the bottom.

Re: Need a catalytic converter

How many miles are on the vehicle? Any idea why it failed, and are you sure it's bad? There should be two converters, one for each cylinder bank. Is it the passenger side one that you think is bad?...

Re: Ignition coils and tb for 5.7

Also, Sully, the $$$ you'd spend on a TB and coils, would just about cover the cost of a used set of SRT stock headers and a good 3 in. straight through cat. back exhaust. This would bring you...

Re: Ignition coils and tb for 5.7

Yes, that is my opinion, and not just a cat back. Without improving the VE of the engine you'll only get minimal gains, if any. Again, IMO, some folks pay big $$$ for at TB and almost have to say it...

Re: Ignition coils and tb for 5.7

He has a 2010 which has the coil over both plugs. To change them to a higher output coil setup costs over $300. By the way, SOS makes them for the early Hemi's too, but you'll still need the Shorty...

Re: Ignition coils and tb for 5.7

I've got both hotter coils and a bigger throttle bodies on both my Hemi vehicles, and here's my take.

1. If you're stock, especially with stock exhaust manifolds, a bigger throttle body won't help...

Could be excess water/condensation in the gasoline. This is somewhat common with budget fuel suppliers, especially ones that don't properly maintain the tanks/filters. This can cause all kinds of...

Glad it wasn't any worse and no one was injured. It looks like you can fix the body part yourself if you want. The airbags are a different story though. Good luck, and let us know the outcome.

It depends on how they cleaned the TB. They could have screwed it up. They're very sensitive and quite a few have toasted theirs by getting cleaning solvents/cleaners in and around the wrong places....
