Re: My first recovery didn't go so well

This is what I don't understand about off roading; why would the guy attempt to climb that rock, just because it's there? He had piles of room (looks like it anyway) to go around and continue on his...

Re: JD Power Initial Quality

Well remember that you're a "jeep faithful" guy, and nothing wrong with that of course; but your loyalty probably runs much deeper than guys like me who are new to the brand and the GC. My only...

Re: JD Power Initial Quality

This is such utter BS; as if all Asian brands are somehow the epitome of quality . You can spot the irrational fanboys when they start throwing words around like "never", "period" etc.

Re: RWD vs 4X4

Totally not necessary :) I live in Southern Ontario, we get dumped on over here in the winter many times. There are still thousands upon thousands of 2 wheel drive vehicles, from cars to full size...

Oh dear, I must have pushed a wrong button.

Early 30's hardly changes the picture any, though I have to admit missing that piece of information. Having a mortgage is not = debt free,...

Re: $50k+ is a lot of money for a new vehicle...

No, your summary sucks just like your reading comprehension. I said you need to be financially stable. I also said (previously) "anything nice to enjoy" does not HAVE to include a 50K GC. There are...

Re: $50k+ is a lot of money for a new vehicle...

No, you missed the issue entirely.

Let me summarize my opinion once again:
- he is probably young (I'm going to guess around 25; he mentioned "toddler")
- he has just started making a good wage...

Not harsh, just inaccurate. He asked for opinions, I gave mine. I'm certainly not going to keep banging my head on the wall in this thread; some of you have the financial smarts of a dried biscuit,...

Re: $50k+ is a lot of money for a new vehicle...

It most definitely IS different ways of looking at things, no "suppose" needed :). I agree that 50K is NEVER a wise financial move. It's a luxury, pure and simple, which is why I say at his age he...

Re: $50k+ is a lot of money for a new vehicle...

The OP sounds quite young yet (the mention of toddler). He has "just" started making a good wage (the mention of 2 or 3 years). The worst thing to do (in my opinion) is drop 50K on a car.

I stand...

Re: $50k+ is a lot of money for a new vehicle...

I have to agree with OP; 50K is way too rich for me. I went the used route, got a base laredo for just over half the original sticker price. Was 1.5 years old, non rental, spent 6 months (off and on)...

Re: Drove a 2014 Toyota Highlander today, my thoughts vs the WK2

Re: Drove a 2014 Toyota Highlander today, my thoughts vs the WK2
