Re: Whats your choice of oil for your WK2?

Probably will not keep vehicle beyond 60,000 miles so I use whatever oil comes down the hose from the tank in the ceiling of the dealer.

Re: Hazy windshield when wipers in motion.

Go ahead and try the alcohol. I keep some in the garage for cleaning the wiper blades. Also I run my wipers in the car wash during the wax or sealer phases so as little as possible accumulates on the...

Re: Strange problem starting Jeep occasionally

Be sure you are stepping on the pedal BEFORE pushing the Start button. In my haste I have pushed the button a fraction of a second before depressing the pedal. No start!

Re: Airing Down: How Much?

I only mentioned it because I did put a rock through my sidewall while slowly coming down a mountain in VT several years ago.

Re: Airing Down: How Much?

For conditions you describe I would NOT air down, just drive slowly. Airing down in those conditions increases the risk of sidewall being cut by rocks and possibly tire bead coming off wheel. Airing...

Re: Used 2012 WK2 Overland with incomplete recalls

Logic says to make them agree to do the recalls. Price seems high, but may be determined by availability in your area. I watched my trade in last year in the dealer's ads. They reduced the asking...

Re: Smaller Tire Width for Winter?

Thinner tires are marginally better in snow, but you are splitting hairs in this case.

Re: Qudra lift air suspension...?

QL will auto-level the vehicle when off at the strangest times. It scared the crap out of me once when I was poking around in the garage 20 minutes after I turned the vehicle off.

Re: Michelin LTX MS 2 for Winter

I had them on my MY11 WK2. Great tires. Good on highway. Good in snow. Good for mild off-roading. Not good on hard packed snow or ice.
So far Nokian WR G3 SUV are checking all the boxes for me....

Re: Ordered an Overland

Congrats. QL heights are described in the owner's manual on the Official Jeep website. "Park" setting is noticeably lower. My 91 year old 4' 11" mother-in-law easily hops in and out of the vehicle....

Re: so, snows or good A/T replacement

Both Nokians, Rotiiva A/T and WRG3 SUV, have the severe weather symbol of snowflake/mountain to qualify as a winter tire though both can be 12 month tires....

Re: Michelin LTX MS2 or LTX AT2

One is A/T, the other isn't. LTX M/S 2 is quiet, high mileage and very good in snow, not too good on ice.

Re: 2014 vs 2015 Summit/Overland - Future Resale

I really don't have that information, but someone told me a vehicle looses 1/3 of it's value once it drives off the lot as a used car. For prior year WK2, new, my guess is $6,000+/-.

Re: Michelin LTX M/S2 or Goodyear Wrangler All terrain adventure

Depends... one is A/T, the other isn't.
I had LTX M/S 2's on 2011 WK2 and liked them. They are quiet, smooth, expensive, very long tread life and not very good on hard packed snow or ice.

Re: Nokian WR G3 SUV

I've only driven slightly over 100 miles on them and feel the ride is just as smooth as the Forteras. The sidewall is stiff enough for me as I do not take corners at outrageous speeds. Remember they...

Re: Any prior Avalanche Owners? About to purchase JGC

I had a Toyota 4WD pickup many years ago when we were furnishing our latest house. Even with sand bags the back end easily lost grip when cornering on snow. The Jeep is much more weight balanced.

Re: Jacking a QL Jeep

It's really not "settling". It is "leveling" and this apparently can happen after the vehicle is parked and engine is off.
