Re: some question for overland owners

My $.02...

Q2- Hold both Up and Down buttons at the same time for a second or two. They will flash to indicate the QL has been disabled.

Q3 - Stick to the recommended 89. I would only use 87...

Re: Car Seat Question

I'm not sure I understand your issue with the undermat as it is specifically designed to prevent indents and abnormal wear to the seat. They also have an anti-slip bottom to prevent the car seat...

I put one of these under our baby's car seat. Definitely worth $15!

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

Sorry, but I have to agree with Techno. However, this should be a lot easier with the passive entry. If you're a female keep the key in your purse - too easy. If you're a male, keep your key close...

I'm looking forward to the update after you see the dealer. I really hope nothing is seriously wrong and the there is an easy fix. Best of luck.

Re: Newbie Question on Ordering

It varies widely from dealer to dealer. IMO, a $500 deposit is not too much, but it should be refundable. There could be problems that would warrant a refund if your Jeep arrived without ordered...

Re: Another cost cutting measure

I agree that skid plates are the answer. I've never seen solid aluminum 'bend' much, it usuall cracks or just breaks. Aluminum isn't very pliable.

Re: Could I have made a mistake?

IMO, it's probably a glitch that can be easily fixed. Honestly, this could be a problem that a $60K BMW or Mercedes that could experience. Why are you so eager to blame the Jeep before even giving...

Re: Hemi Block Heater

LOL. Sometimes I forget that some of us here were actually able to buy one off the dealers lot and not have to wait 7 to ???? weeks for a special order.

Re: Hemi Block Heater

I agree. And now I'm left wondering why, for $50, would anyone in a cold region NOT order one? It was the easiest block to check on my order form along with the $250 ORAII package.

Re: Unlocking the WK2

Okay, tracking now. Seems like a small nit-pick, but I guess it wouldn't be that hard for Jeep to include it. Although, I'd rather not have it than drive a Hyundai.

Re: 11 WK First Oil Change Question

You sure about those "break-in" additives, or is this just speculation? My information is that factory fill is simply off-the-shelf type motor oil.

Re: 11 WK First Oil Change Question

Sounds good to me. My plan is a change at 1000 with conventional (already done), next change at 2500 with conventional, then at 5000 with synthetic and every 5000 thereafter.

Burning oil

I know that it is normal for a new car to burn a little oil as it breaks in, but at 2200 miles I'm still burning oil.

Tow/Haul mode

Does it make sense to anyone that the Jeep goes into 'Aerodynamic Ride Height' while in 'Tow/Haul' mode? I can't figure why anyone towing something would want this.

Re: Picking Up the Overland tomorrow - what should I look for?

No, nothing more really. Maybe, just maybe, you should check and make sure that you got the radio/nav system that you ordered. Otherwise I'm confident you'll be very happy with what waits for you....
