Re: Adjusting Side Mirrors without Blind Spot Monitor

Works well when renting cars also. Started adjusting my mirrors like this about two years ago. Took several weeks to get used to it, but would not go back to old method now.

Re: tip on WK2 pinch weld adapter for floor jacks

The adapter I have been using rests on each side of the seam - not on the seam.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread:

"It must not matter - I have had zero damage with using the adapter. Did...

Re: Sport mode

Really liked the way mine drove in sport mode, but I lost about 4 mpg (after testing for several weeks).

Re: THIS is why you do your first oil change early

This has been my experience with many different makes and many hundreds of thousands of miles. I have mostly used Mobil One and factory filters (always) with no problems.

Re: Observation on Goodyear Fortera HL

I agree. Have I just been lucky with the particular set of Goodyears on my GC?

On my Mercedes C300, I replaced the OEM Michelins (after 30K miles) with Continental ExtremeContacts and was...

Re: How many miles on stock brakes?

I am at 52,600 and the front and rear pads look like they will go at least to 100K. My driving is Virginia highway and DC city. I previously owned a 2008 Patriot and only needed to replace the...

Re: Observation on Goodyear Fortera HL

I am at 52,600 miles and have 6/32" on the front and 7/32" on the rear - they are 20" tires. When I originally bought the Jeep, I was very skeptical of the Goodyears, but may replace with the same...

Re: tip on WK2 pinch weld adapter for floor jacks

I have used many different materials over the years, but these adapters work great - and the paint on my GC has not been damaged whatsoever with the one shown at the start of this thread.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

I must have gotten a good set. I am at 41K and they will easily go to 50K - not even close to the wear bars. Performance has been very good and noise is low.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

I would rely on straddling the pinch weld since it is used by the factory jack for changing a flat. I would also leave the jack in place and gently lower the GC until it somewhat rested on the jack...

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

I would bet that someone else at some point serviced the vehicle and removed the tire and applied the incorrect torque. You went by the book by originally hand tightening with the torque wrench.

Re: What are these 20" wheels good for...Absolutely Nothing

Re: Broken antenna 2013 GC

Put a pair of vise grips in the center and turn it counterclockwise - the screw in tip should come right out. A new antenna should just screw-in by hand. Bummer.

Re: Second oil change, now I have oil drip spots on my carport

Having done the first two oil changes myself - inspite of lifetime free changes at the dealer, I would bet on mechanic error considering they used Mopar parts.
