Re: 4-Wheel Drive System on Summit Question.

Its a judgement call only you can make.

Its not an option on the V6 because the V6 may not have enough power to spin the wheels :) ... but more likely some bean counter decided this was the most...

Re: What are these 20" wheels good for...Absolutely Nothing

You implied (by stating 20s are useless) that your local roads were off road quality or you needed something like a farm tractor to negotiate them. Thats the only condition 20s could be considered...

Re: What are these 20" wheels good for...Absolutely Nothing

I hate the way the 18s feel, like riding on pillows, squirm all over the place, takes what seems like an infinite amount of time to grab when turning into a turn, have to do an emergency maneuver at...

Re: New 285 50 R20 in Overland

They are a tire made in china by Fullrun they also make Antyre. They're similar to Nakang. You see them a lot on custom vehicles as the are made in some far out sizes. Don't know anything about...

Re: Changing final drive ratio on a 2012 JGC 5.7L

The WK2 has so called metric gears. Doesn't seem to be anyone making them. Every once in a while folks try to get a group buy together but it never seems to pan out.

The 5.7 axle ratio is 3.47....

Re: Adjustable Air Ride

I've heard of a few that have tried modifying sensor rod lengths, same thing that kit does. I haven't heard much feedback on the results. I don't think some of the tech information on that site is...

Re: Do you find yourself having to make a lot of slight steering corrections?

Yeah two things that effect cross wind sensitivity significantly is the amount of area the wind pushes on (semis) and how aerodynamic the vehicle is (Wk2). For cars and SUVs, the more aerodynamic the...

Re: Do you find yourself having to make a lot of slight steering corrections?

My WK2 tracks poorly when compared to my WJ, Liberty, or RAM... But about the same as my Mercedes.. I suspect it's the Mercedes influence :). When I swapped out the OEM fortesas with nittos, it...

Re: tire pressure monitoring system 2014 Summit

There is no reprogram but sometimes a "stop" needs to be involved to relearn new sensors. The dealer can use a scanner to reset to speed things up, but its unnecessary.

Your wrangler sensors are...

Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

For relatively common vehicles like the WK2, dealers in the US will refund the deposit, no questions asked, until you take delivery. The blotch on their name by retaining the deposit is not worth it....

Re: Rear Brake Life?

Most Jeep owners complain about rear pads wear. Liberties last maybe 35,000 miles. ESC and BTC contribute, but it is what it is. Those of us with QD see much less rear pad wear, which suggest the...

Re: ALL NEW NITTO NT421Q in 265/50 VR 20

Re: TPMS Rebuild Kits?

OEM rebuild kits are new valve stems. Unscrew the TPMS sensor, cut off the old rubber stem and remove, push new stem in, screw the TPMS sensor back on.

Re: Stock GY Fortera 20" > Expectations

I've read somewhere, I think here months ago, that the paradas will squirm around a bit when towing, soft sidewalls or something. For towing you may want to limit yourself to XL load rated tires.
