Re: Jeep service costs

Good luck. I did that.

Mine was on for about an hour, during most of which time not a lot happened apart from the "technician" playing on his laptop in front of the car, which I guess was the...

Re: Buying Filter packs 2014 GC Diesel.

Really! Seriously?

That's scare mongering if ever there was. And yes, factory prices (like much of the servicing costs) are extortion. I've used Wesfill filters on previous cars and my wife's car,...

Re: Jeep service costs

There is no doubt in my mind that many, if not most of the service costs at Jeep dealers are pure extortion. Many people think they HAVE to use the dealer to maintain warranty.
WRONG

The work...

Yes. Certainly have.

Yes, it's a mongrel design.
When refitting, it helps a lot to reach in under the back of the air box with your left hand and pull the base slightly forward, then the lid fits much more easily.

I neglected to add, although others have already, that to get at the oil filter you loosen two hose clamps and remove the flexible air inlet duct. Very easy.

Only 5,000klms in 6 months but I'd rather "over" do it on this high tech engine.

I drained the oil (nice and hot), using protective gloves just in case....
