Re: Best snow driving techniques and modes

there's a couple videos by jeep that are more comprehensive, still could be more detailed and to me kind of incomplete. It's like, OK, that's all you need to know, we'll work the magic.

Jeep...

Re: Best snow driving techniques and modes

I know now, but at the time the vehicle was on the lot and was exactly what I was looking for in all other respects. Things are probably too integrated to add one now.

Re: Best snow driving techniques and modes

This has all been very informative. I'm learning much and being open to all the different viewpoints. I've got a new appreciation for the snow mode, but I agree with some comments that deeper...

Re: Best snow driving techniques and modes

That's exactly what I was talking about. I had a '76 F-150 like that. High camper suspension. You had to yank the lever on the floor and get out and lock the hubs, but then it was unstoppable, no...

You're right on. I'm familiar with the theory, but like you said it just feels strange. Now that I'm thinking about it,I can recall old drivers ed manuals that mentioned trying that with standard...

Re: Best snow driving techniques and modes

Thanks for all the input. It's very helpful. I took another ride later and performance was much better. I didn't realize that snow mode also made the power split to the axles 50/50. Maybe I...

Re: 18" rims to 20" swap

Does anyone know the app weight difference between the 18" and the 20" rims? The 275 55 20's seem to be about 5 lbs heavier than the 265 60 18's, I'm wondering how much I'm adding to unsprung weight.

Re: 18" rims to 20" swap

Thanks,
That makes a lot of sense. By going to the 275/55 you can keep the sidewall height, maintaing the ride quality. On a comparison chart, it looks like the diameter increases 1.5". Any...
