Re: Warning messages

I think its only available on the 05-06, and involves turning the key back and forth in sequences to get the DTC to show the codes. Directions are on the forums somewhere, search for the key dance....

Re: Warning messages

Yes the ABS Wheel Speed sensor is one unit. One on each wheel, connected to the wheel hub assembly. Their replacement is a common fix to your problem. If your model is capable, do the key dance...

Re: Rear diff whining when off gas on highway

+1 on this. My dad has his WK rear end rebuilt twice by the dealer and every time the whoom whoom sound of a failing rear end came back within 6 months. Not even the dealers can get the pre-load...

Re: Inoperable Gas Gauge

Check the battery. Coupling the random dying issue with the electrical problem, I'd definitely get the battery tested. These WKs are known to be REALLY PICKY with voltages! Even if the WK starts...

Thanks, I got it installed today. Took about 20 minutes from start to finish with the aid of a harmonic balancer puller that I rented from O'Reilly's on their loaner tool program. The project was a...

Bringing this thread back from the dead. I just got a used woodgrain wheel from an Overland to replace my shredded leather/vinyl wheel in my WK. The wheel I got doesn't seem to be marked with a...

Re: Wheel bearing stuck on shaft

I used a propane torch and a screwdriver (to pry) with a sledge and about 30+ minutes of beating on it in order for my right wheel bearing to budge a few weeks back. I doubt the heat from the torch...

Re: Air Conditioning - Cold on driver side only, help!!

Sounds like a bad blend door actuator. But that might just be a place to start. Search for blend door problems on here and see if that helps you out. Good luck mate.

Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

Biggest issue on the WK close to OEM spec rotors is the easy warping. Most go for R1 or EBC because they don't warp basically ever. I replaced my OEM rotors which were heavily warped by 60k with...

Re: check elec brake system message and traction control and abs light on

You won't get grinding from any wheel speed sensor issues (though the tranny might stick due to poor info coming to the tranny from the speed sensors). If you hear grinding, depending on where it's...

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Ignition switch failure. Common problem on the WKs. Easy and cheap fix. There are a bunch of How To's on it in here, including a synopsis written by me somewhere.
