Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

If I'm purchasing a $40k+ vehicle I'd want the best available option out there. Call me picky, but I wouldn't settle for an older NAV unit when I could have the newest for a small extra cost. An...

Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

Correct, both the RER and RHR units are Harmon and are both listed as 730N. The 430N RHB is the Garmin unit.

Look at the bottom-right hand corner of the unit. Should be labeled "RHR" or "RER" there.

Re: 2012 NA Diesel?

A diesel WK2, in my opinion, is highly unlikely to be put into production in the US for many reasons. The extra cost associated with getting diesels 50 state emission compliant is very prohibitive. A...

Re: Future Chrysler/Jeep V8s

Hopefully they'll have the twin-turbo V6 as standard or an option in the 2014 Overland. 420hp and about the same amount of torque throughout the entire band would be awesome!:D

Re: Future Chrysler/Jeep V8s

I agree with the new Explorer being sissified. IMO, I think it looks like crap. Only offering the turbo-4 and the non-turbo V6 is a mistake. If you're not going to have the new 5.0 V8 as an option,...

Re: Future Chrysler/Jeep V8s

Re: Man am I glad I ordered the Hemi!

True. Today's modern V6s make just as much HP and, in some cases, way more than V8s from 10-20 years ago. Although, low-end torque can't be replace without larger displacements or forced induction.

Re: Future Chrysler/Jeep V8s

I bet it is. I'm kind of curious about the new 5.0s in the 2011 F-150s getting ready to roll out. Should be a great all around engine.

Future Chrysler/Jeep V8s

Ford has finally shelved its Triton V8s in favor for its all new 5.0L DOHC V8 (code-named "coyote") and 6.2L SOHC V8 ("boss"). GM also has plans to release its new Vortec gen.V V8s within the next...

Re: Is the WK2 worth the upgrade from a 2010 Limited?

I agree, I'd wait for the 8-speed tranny in a year or two if I had the '10 model already. You also won't be so upside-down with your current loan by then.

True, the Limited 4x4 V6 in Blackberry w/ 20 inch rims has a $41,315 MSRP while the Overland 4x4 V6 in Blackberry has a $42,915 MSRP. For $1,600 more I'd get a nicer interior, vented seats w/ premium...

Cool, is that combined mileage or strictly highway mileage? Hopefully, there are owners out there that get 22/23 or better mileage on freeways.

Re: V6 or Hemi??? Anybody driven both???

I understand your point, but the Pentastar V6 and the old 3.7 V6 are like apples and oranges. According to some reviews online the Pentastar is nearly 2 seconds quicker to 60 than the old V6.

Re: Anybody lease a WK2 yet?

Cool, still wonder what it would be for a 15k/36mo lease. 46% or 47% I'd assume since I was already quoted 45% for the Overland 15k/36mo lease.

I also wonder if residuals will get any better come...
