Great so you know what I'm referring to, and I agree you're most likely on the right track. I would disassemble it, check for any debris on the hub, and check for run out, our glazing.

I have one question I'm trying to determine whether it's coming from the front , or rear. when the pulsating does come do you get any movement in the steering wheel? Try going about 55-60 then stop...

I had planned on putting leds in between the cupholders, but that's even better. They say they're out of stock for 08-10 so hopefully they'll get more soon.

Nice work Matt that looks like from the angle you have it on there. The slider will still serve it's purpose, you can reach it, and it's not as ugly as the factory one I hate.
