Does it run those temperatures on the highway? And when standing still? Did you check if the AC condensor in front of the radiator is not clogged with debris?

I used RTV too, with an upgraded pan. No leaks. It's a pain, but in a lot of ways, if done properly, I think you're better off with RTV.
